"What do you mean?" Craig asked.
"I can't go back there Craig. I'll quickly pack a small bag and leave." I explained.
Craig shook his head. "Why?"
"Because I don't belong there. If I stay, I'll and up being a shadow behind Corey's new baby. He won't care about me anymore. I mean, not like he does now. He probably won't even notice my disappearance. I'm not happy there. It's too much. I've been ignored almost my whole life. And now Corey's doing it." I replied.
Craig didn't say anything.
"Plus, that baby'll need a bedroom. I bet Corey'll be happy once he realizes I'm out of his hair." I added soon after.
Craig just shook his head, and hugged me.
"I'm so sorry you feel this way Raven." He murmered.
I sighed. "It is what it is I guess."
Craig pulled away and looked me in the eyes.
"At least write him a letter and tell us where you're going." He said.
I shook my head. "I'll do the first thing you said. I don't want anyone else knowing. And if I tell them where I am, they might go looking for me." I said.
Craig sighed. "Okay. I won't tell anyone."
I hugged him again. "Thank you."
"Anytime sweety." Craig replied.
When we arrived back at the house, I noticed Corey in the living room.
So I quickly averted my eyes and trudged upstairs.
Once I was in my room, I shut the door, and pulled out my bag that was once used for moving out of Miranda's house.
I sighed at the memory. That was when Corey still cared.
People change I guess.
I walked towards my closet and pulled out a couple of shirts and sweatshirts.
Then, I walked over to my dresser and pulled out a few pairs of jeans and yoga pants and stuffed everything in my bag.
Then, I grabbed my favorite stuffed teddy bear and put it in the bag as well.
Once I was finished, I grabbed the bag and threw it in the corner of my room.
I was leaving tonight.
I began to think about all the good memories I had here.
And then I thought about the bad ones. But I was quickly thrown back into reality when my door opened.
I quickly turned around worrying if it was Corey.
But it wasn't.
It was only Craig.
He softly shut my door. "At least tell me where you're going to go." He said.
I looked at him. "I'm going to a friend's house."
He looked at me worriedly.
"Don't worry Craig. I'll still go to school and everything. My friend Marissa lives close by. I'm still on spring break right now though." I assured.
He nodded. "Can I at least tell Paul?" He asked.
I shook my head. "I don't want anyone to know Craig. Please don't tell anyone." I begged.
Craig sighed in defeate. "Alright." He finally said before walking out.
I sat on the edge of my bed.
I actually didn't know if Marissa would let me move in.
But I still took out my phone and dailed her number and waited.
"Hey Raven." She said.
"Hey Marissa. Can I ask you something?" I asked.
"Sure." She replied.
"Can I move in with you?" I asked hopefully.
She didn't answer right away. And I was getting worried.
But she finally answered. "Sure but what happened now?" She asked.
"Corey's girlfriend is pregnant." I croaked, trying to hold back my tears.
"What!?" She screeched. "How could he do this to you!?"
"I don't know." I whimpered.
I heard her sigh. "When are you coming over?" She finally asked.
"Tonight." I answered.
"Okay. I'll see you then."
And then we hung up.
After a few hours of sitting in my room and debating on whether I should run away or not. And I decided I wanted to.
So, I grabbed my notebook and flipped to a clean page and wrote a note to Corey.
Soon, I saw Craig enter. And he came and gave me a hug. "Please stay in contact." He said after we pulled away. And I promised I would.
And once he walked out of the room, I grabbed my bag and stuffed my phone securely in my sweatshirt pocket.
And then I jumped out the window, and headed towards my new home.
