Sanaya's P.O.V :-
That night, when she checked Facebook, she was in for a shock. There were more than 20 notifications and when she saw what it was about, she was mortified and furious. The notification read," Ajay Roy said he is married to you, do you accept this relationship? " What could Sanaya do? Say no? Of course not. So she accepted it and saw what the other fuss was about. Jay's sister had uploaded a picture of them both smiling, standing side by side after signing the registry papers. There were so many likes and comments and a few people had even posted, "congratulations! " on her wall. Sanaya was furious. Picking up her phone, she called the devil himself and as soon as he received, she said," what the hell do you think you are doing???? Married to me?? Already?? I haven't even told half the people about our marriage and you had to post it on social media? I don't blame you for the picture but why did you have to post that we got married today? " Ajay said, " Sanaya. Please calm down. This is the date that matters, you know. We are legally husband and wife. The rituals are just formalities. What difference does it make whether we post it on social media after a week or before? " Sanaya refused to calm down. She said " Are you forgetting that this is an arrangement? Stop pretending as if we are in love with each other. Don't forget that I know you and I know about how long your feelings last. So stop meddling in my life and don't you dare take such a step again in future without taking my permission. Just because we're married now doesn't give you the right to take decisions on my behalf too. Did you forget that I said we'll live together but lead separate lives? I actually meant it. I keep my word. I don't make fake promises like you, Mr.Ajay Roy." Ajay was silent for a moment then he said in a low voice, " I didn't forget anything, Sanaya. I did whatever I did because I would like to remember this date as our actual marriage date and not when we do those rituals a week after, whether you like it or not. You can't deny that I'm making sense and this is indeed the right thing to do, Mrs. Sanaya Roy. Good night. " Saying this he hung up leaving Sanaya angrier than she was. " The nerve of that brat. What does he think of himself? Bloody idiot." Still cursing, Sanaya looked at the laptop screen in front of her and noticed that a fresh wave of likes and comments had made an appearance on her "relationship". Sanaya thought about letting that brat deal with it but then decided to reply to the comments because she didn't want to seem like a bitch by not replying. So for the next half an hour, she sat and replied to the comments on both her relationship status and the picture. Just as she was about to log off, she got a call from Ishani. Ishani said, " You certainly seem very active on Facebook today, Mrs.Roy." "Don't call me that!", Sanaya snapped. Ishani said, "Sanaya. Since you've changed your relationship status and you are legally married, it's your name now so you better change it on Facebook too." Sanaya was about to deny but instead stayed silent and willed herself to see the logic behind Ishani's words. She suddenly felt like crying and said, "I'll think about it. Good night. Talk to you tomorrow. Take care." Ishani said, "Good night and you too take care" , and ended the call. Sanaya started crying immediately. She hated him for doing this. For playing with her emotions. For not letting her fall in love with anyone else. The worst part was, she let him. She couldn't even do anything about it. She promised herself to stay out of his way as much as possible once they started living together, even as she changed her title on Facebook. Sanaya Mukherjee Roy was too long so she just kept it as Sanaya Roy. Seeing this title next to her name, seemed foreign made the reality more finite, somehow. She went to sleep with a heavy heart that night, with the tears falling on her pillow.
