Jay's P.O.V :-
Jay rested his forehead against the door of his room, and called out to Sanaya once more. This time softly. He forced himself to be calm. It had been more than half an hour that his wife had locked herself in his room and he was extremely worried, his heart beating fast and refusing to slow down. Sanaya didn't respond. If she carried on in this manner, he would have no choice but to break the door. He rattled the lock once more. It didn't budge. He sat down on the floor and rested his back to the door. Maybe she would open up if she thought he had gone away. He knew he had upset her, terribly. That was twice in a day and it had only been three days since his marriage. If he continued like this, their marriage wouldn't even last a month, let alone for two years; although he planned on making it last for the rest of their lives. He loved her, he truly did, yet he managed to upset her so often. Football was his weakness. He often drifted off into the land of the match and became completely  unaware of his surroundings.. but this was no excuse for ignoring his wife and the food she had cooked. He had not even touched it. His stomach grumbled now, thinking about food. He was starving but he wouldn't move from his position until he remedied the situation. He knew Sanaya wouldn't open up for him. She would only open up if it came down to his family members knowing about their fight. A plan began to formulate in his head. He got up silently and tiptoed down the stairs. He went outside the house and rang the bell. He hid beside a pillar and waited. He rang it again. He quickly came inside and hid again. He heard the door of his room open and close. Sanaya was coming down the stairs. She walked fast towards the door and peeped through the eye hole. She saw no one. She frowned but did not open the door. She peeped again and was disappointed. As she started to step away from the door, Jay emerged from behind the pillar and caught hold of her hand. Sanaya stiffened immediately. "Let go of my hand", she said coldly. His grip tightened and he pulled her towards him and held her tightly. She struggled to get out of his arms but he didn't budge. She hit him on his back but he still didn't react. She finally gave up and tears started trickling down her eyes. Her entire body slackened in his arms and he said, "I'm sorry, Sanaya. I truly am. I shouldn't have neglected you the way I did and neither should I have showed such less regard for the food you cooked." Sanaya said nothing. She kept her head lowered and a few of her tears fell on his bare feet. "Look at me, Sanaya. " Sanaya slowly lifted her head and wiped her tears. Her eyes were devoid of any emotion as she said, "Don't, Jay. You haven't changed. I was beginning to think you had but you're still the same arrogant and selfish brute you were. Apologies should only come from people who mean them and you're not one of them. It wasn't your fault, anyway. I was the one who said that we wouldn't interfere in each other's lives. You were just following the rules. I'm sorry I became emotional. " Jay hadn't expected this. He stared at her and she stared right back at him. The doorbell rang for real this time and he immediately dropped his arms from where he was caging her. Sanaya wiped her face, took a deep breath and instructed him to go and sit in the living room. He walked away and she opened the door. He heard his mother's voice as he made his way to the dining table and sat down to eat. He hurriedly finished his food before his mother came looking for him. He ate in record time and kept his plate in the kitchen. He went out to the living room and saw his parents and Sanaya talking. His mother informed him that his sister and brother in law would not be returning for a few days. They would be staying there. Jay shrugged. He said good night to no one in particular and went up to his room, avoiding Sanaya's gaze. It would be better for the both of them if they gave each other some time to adjust. He had to keep the possibility of her leaving alive somewhere. He was not an easy person to live with. He might not be able to give her enough love for her to stay. With a heavy heart he lay down on the bed and let these dark thoughts plague his mind.
