Oklahoma

"Why?" I asked my parents. "Your grandparents miss you," My mom said, but I could tell that she was hiding something from me. "Mom. Tell me the real reason we are leaving tonight," I said. "The rest of the family is concerned about your......relationship with Adam," My mom said. "Why!" I exclaimed. "Sutton, calm down," My dad said.

"No! I refuse to calm down! Why do we have to go to Oklahoma just beacause the rest of the family can't accept the fact that I'm in love!" I screamed before I ran upstairs to my room. I slammed my door shut and laid on my bed. I pulled out my phone and clicked on Adam's name.

"Hello?" Adam asked. "Adam," I said. "Sutton? What is it?" He asked. "My parents are making me leave for Oklahoma tonight," I said. "Why?" He asked. "Apparently the rest of my family is concerned about my relationship with you." I said. "But I thought your parents were starting to accept it," He said. "They are, but the rest of my family can be quite judgemental." I said. "Well what are you going to do?" He asked.

Before I could answer him, my mom came into my room. "Sutton, we need to talk." She said. "I'll call you back Adam," I said before I hung up my phone and threw it next to me.

"What is it mom?" I asked her. "The family just wants to talk to you," She said. "So they can tell me to dump Adam? Not happening," I said. "Sweetie, they just want to know why you love him," She said. "They want to know why I love him?" I asked. "Yes," She said. "Then let Adam come with us," I said. "What?" She asked. "They want to know why I love him, I will show them," I said. "But sweetie," "No buts mom. You want me to go, then Adam goes." I said. "Alright, call Adam and tell him to meet us at the airport," She said before she walked out.

I picked up my phone and called Adam. "Hey," He said. "Pack your bags. You're coming to Oklahoma with us," I said. "What?" He asked. "My family wants to know why I love you so I'll show them," I said. "We're going to have sex in front of them?" He asked. "No, you are going to show them how much you love me," I said. "Still sounds like sex," He said. "Adam, you are going to be charming, sweet, and be the best boyfriend you can be." I said. "Alright, meet you at the airport in a half hour," He said. "Yep. See you soon, bye." I said. "Bye," He said before we hung up.

30 minutes later, I walked into the airport with my parents and saw Adam. I let go of my suitcase and ran over to him. I jumped into his arms and kissed him. "Hey cutie," I said. "Hey baby," He said. "Hey Adam," My dad said. "Hey Shelton, or should I call you dad?" Adam said. "Shut the hell up," My dad said. "I'm just kidding," Adam said.

4 hours later, we landed in Oklahoma. I walked off the plane with Adam's fingers intertwined with mine. I immediately saw my grandparents. Their facial expressions went from excited to angry when they saw Adam.

"Mamaw! Papaw!" I exclaimed as I ran over to them and hugged them. "Hi sweetie," Mamaw said. "Hey Sutton," Papaw said. "Momma! Daddy!" My mom exclaimed as she hugged them. "Hi sweetheart," Mamaw said. "Hey Blake," Papaw said. I looked at Adam who was standing a few feet behind me. I walked over to him and grabbed his hand.

"Mamaw, papaw, this is my boyfriend Adam. Adam this is my mamaw and papaw," I said. "Nice to meet you," Adam said. They just stared at him. "How old are you?" Papaw asked. "34, sir," Adam said. "Sutton, sweetheart, aren't you 18?" Mamaw asked. "Yes," I said. "I may be elderly but I know for a fact that you are 16 years apart and that is at the least 12 years too many," Mamaw said.

I stood there silently. "How about we go back to the house?" My mom said. "Yeah, let's go," My dad said. I held Adam's hand as we walked to the car. "The men will go with Papaw and the women will come with me," Mamaw said. "I looked at Adam and gave him a peck on the cheek. "I love you so much," I whispered in his ear. "I love you too baby," He said before he kissed my head. I walked over to my dad. "You hurt him, I'm never coming back to Oklahoma and I'm moving out," I said before I got into the car with my mom and Mamaw.

Adam's POV

I got in the car with Blake and Miranda's dad. "So Adam, have you and Sutton had sex?" Miranda's dad asked. I almost choked on air. "Excuse me, what?" I asked through my coughing. "It's a simple question, Adam. Have you had sex with my granddaughter," He asked again. "Yes. I have." I said quietly. "What!" Blake screamed as Miranda's dad slammed on the brakes.

Blake turned around and looked at me with anger in his eyes. "When?" He asked. "Blake, I....." I said before he interrupted me. "WHEN!" He shouted. "The first night she stayed at my house...." I said. "Get out." Blake said. "What?" I asked. "Get out of this goddamn car!" Blake shouted.

I opened the door and climbed out of the car. I slammed the door and they drove away.
