Adam's POV

I walked into Starbucks and ordered my drink along with Sutton's favorite. A Grande Mocha Frappucino. I sat down at a table in the corner and saw Sutton walk in. She walked over to the table and sat across from me. She grabbed her drink, got up, and tossed it in the garbage.

"Your welcome," I said as she sat back down. "I didn't ask you to buy me coffee, nor do I want you to buy me coffee. I asked you to come here so we could talk." Sutton said. "Ok, what do you want to talk about?" I asked. "Adam, cut the shit. I know you figured it out." She said. "What did I figure out?" I asked with a smirk on my face. "Adam, you may be a druggie, but I know you aren't stupid," She said.

That hurt, but it was true.

"I want to hear you say it," I said.

"Fine. Devyn is your daughter," She said.

"I knew it. Wanna tell me why you never told me?" I asked. "I was happy with Brody, Adam. You broke my heart. You lied. I was not going to go back to you. You already started back on drugs and I could not be around that." She said. "I would have stopped," I said. "I don't care. You've broken promises and I did not want to have you break another one," She said.

"Please let me be in her life," I said. "You don't deserve to be in her life, Adam." She said. She was breaking my heart into pieces with every word. "Sutton, please. I want to get back the 15 months I spent without her," I said.

"You will not be allowed back in her life, until you get your shit together. That means no drugs and you can only drink sometimes. I will check your entire house before she steps foot in it. And for the first few times, you will come to the park to spend time with her." She said.

"Fine. Anything to be with my daughter." I said. "Adam, this does not mean that I forgive you. All it means is that I want the best for my daughter. And if her father is the best thing for it, then I'm all for it. But if you do anything bad Adam, I will remove her from your life as quickly as I let her in." She said.

"So, when can I see her?" I asked. "When you get your shit together. I'm giving you one week Adam. And if you don't clean up your act by then, you can kiss your daughter goodbye," She said before she got up and left.

I had one week. I couldn't let my daughter slip through my fingers. I would get my act together.

And hopefully get Sutton back too.
