3 Months Later

Sutton's POV

In the past 3 months Adam had spent 2-3 days a week with Devyn. He lit up every time he saw her and she was always excited whenever I mentioned him.

It warmed my heart knowing that Adam cleaned up his act and changed for her, but I was worried about  spending too much time with him and falling for him again.

I told myself I wouldn't, but I feel myself drifting back to him. It's sad, but true.

Last month I told everyone about Adam being Devyn's father. Brody was upset at first, but he understood. I told Devyn and she kind of understood, but she's only 18 months old.

Tonight Devyn was going to stay at Adam's. For the entire weekend actually. I trusted him enough to let her stay at his house. I hope nothing goes wrong.

Adam's POV

I heard a knock on the door and instantly knew that it was Sutton and Devyn. I hopped off the couch and opened the door.

"Daddy!" Devyn exclaimed as she ran in and hugged my leg. "Hey baby girl," I said as I picked her up and kissed her head. "Hi Adam," Sutton said. "Hi Sutton," I said.

"You have fun with daddy ok? Mommy will pick you up Sunday night," She said before she kissed Devyn's head. "Bye mommy," Devyn said as she waved at Sutton. "Bye baby. Bye Adam," Sutton said as she waved before she walked out.

I shut the door and brought Devyn into the family room. "Daddy your house is pretty!" Devyn exclaimed as she looked around the room. "I'm glad you like it. Do you want to see your room?" I asked her. I bought a bunch of stuff and decorated one of the guest rooms especially for Devyn.

She nodded her head and I grabbed her hand and led her upstairs. We stopped by the first bedroom and walked into it. I chose purple for her room and got her a white canopy bed with Disney princess bed sheets.

"I love it daddy!" Devyn exclaimed as she hopped onto her bed. "I'm glad you like it," I said as I stood in the doorway and looked at the cute smile on her face. I was glad that Sutton let Devyn into my life. I had changed for the better.

"Devyn do you want to help me make dinner?" I asked her. She nodded her head and ran downstairs. I followed her and brought her into the kitchen. I sat her on the counter and pulled a box of spaghetti out of the pantry.

"Pasta and marinara sauce good?" I asked her. "Mommy makes it for me too!" She exclaimed. I smiled and got a pot out of the cabinet. I filled it with water and set it on the stove.

After the water finished boiling, I put the pasta in and turned back to Devyn. "Daddy can I ask you a question?" Devyn said. "Anything baby girl," I said.

"Why aren't you and mommy together? If you're my daddy shouldn't you be with my mommy?" She said. My heart broke when she asked that. She doesn't know how much I wish I was with her mom. But I screwed everything up.

"Your mommy is married to Brody. Your mommy and I got into a fight before you were born and she married Brody," I said. "Oh. Do you love mommy?" She asked. "Why do you ask that?" I asked.

"Well mommy told me that she loves you. Do you love her?" She asked. Sutton loves me? No. Devyn probably heard her wrong. But, what if she didn't. What if Sutton really does love me?

"Of course I love mommy. More than anything else," I said. "Tell mommy that. She loves when Brody says it," She said as she smiled at me. If only I could tell Sutton.

Around 9 PM, I carried a sleeping Devyn upstairs into her room. I placed her under the covers and tucked her in. I kissed her head and shut her light off.

I walked into my room and looked on my dresser. I had pictures from when Sutton and I were together, pictures Sutton took of me with Devyn, and pictures of Devyn and Sutton. I loved both of them so much, but only one of them knew.

But I was happy with my life.

I had my daughter back in my life, and I'm close to getting her mother back too.
