Sutton's POV

Yesterday I went to Adam's house and checked the entire place. It was spotless. He was really trying his hardest to get Devyn into his life. I admired it, but I still haven't forgiven him.

I promised him that he could meet Devyn and I at the park today. I still wasn't going to tell Devyn that Adam was her father until she got used to him.

I combed Devyn's hair and put them into little pigtails. "Thank you mommy," She said. "Your welcome baby," I said as I kissed her head. I turned around and saw Brody walking towards us. "Look at my two beautiful girls," He said before he wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me.

"We're gonna go to the park," I said. "Alright, have fun," He said as he kissed my cheek and Devyn's head. I picked Devyn up and carried her downstairs. I grabbed my phone and walked into the garage. I put Devyn in her stroller and I texted Adam.

On our way

He responded insantly.

Already here. See you soon :)

As I approached the park, I saw Adam sitting on the park bench. His face lit up when he saw us. Maybe he had changed.

"Hi," Adam said as I took Devyn out of her stroller and carried her over to him. "Devyn, this is Adam," I said. "Hi Adam," Devyn said as she waved at him. "Hi Devyn," He said. "You were at the party!" Devyn exclaimed. Adam chuckled. "Yes I was," He said.

"Mommy can Adam push me on the swings?" Devyn asked. "Of course," I said as I set her down. Devyn grabbed Adam's hand and led him to the swings. He put her into the baby swing and started to push her back and forth.

The entire time Devyn had the biggest smile on her face. And so did Adam. He looked so happy. My heart melted seeing them together. I always knew that Adam wanted kids. We had even talked about it while we were together. But I was too young and I wasn't ready for a child. But when I found out I was pregnant after we broke up, I had no choice but to prepare to be a mother.

Adam took Devyn out of the swing and set her on the ground so that she could run around. He walked over to me and sat next to me.

"She's an amazing little girl Sutton," He said. "Thanks," I said. "She's exactly like you," He said. "Yeah, I love her so much," I said. "Thank you for letting me spend time with her," He said. "I kept my promise. You cleaned up your act." I said.

"I'm sorry for everything Sutton," He said. "It just wasn't right Adam. I was too young. I'm still young. We just aren't meant to be together Adam. We are too different," I said. I saw his facial expression shift. I know he wanted to be together, but I love Brody.

Devyn came running over to me and I picked her up and put her on my lap. "Did you have fun with Adam?" I asked. "Yeah!" She exclaimed. "What do you say to Adam?" I said. "Thank you," Devyn said. "Anytime cutie," Adam said.

I stood up and put Devyn in her stroller. "When can I see her again?" He asked. "I can bring her by tomorrow if you want," I said. "Can she swim?" He asked. "She can go in the pool but she has to wear floaties and you have to watch her closely," I said. "Alright," He said.

"Ok, well we better go. Devyn say bye to Adam," I said. "Bye Adam!" Devyn said as she waved at Adam. "Bye Devyn," Adam said as he waved back. "Bye Adam," I said. "Bye Sutton," He said. I turned around and started heading home with Devyn.

Maybe letting Adam into Devyn's life wasn't such a bad thing afterall.
