•Joey's POV•
It was 7:58 a.m. I woke up to the sound of my father yelling uncontrollably at my mother. It wasn't out of the ordinary. That's how I wake up pretty much every morning. It usually starts with my mother working her ass off making breakfast in the kitchen. However, my dad isn't pleased with anything she cooks and ends up yelling at her for making a disgusting breakfast, which is delicious in my opinion. My dad is the kind of guy that yells at you for no reason and is really hypocritical. Anyways, that's how my mornings usually start.
I got dressed in my light blue skinny jeans and my white t-shirt and walked downstairs, when I heard the yelling stop. As usual, my breakfast was already waiting for me, my dad left for work, and my mom was sitting at the counter with her head in her hands and slightly sobbing. It always breaks my heart seeing her like this every morning.
"Don't worry about it mom. I love your cooking." I tell her that pretty much every morning and she always gives me the same weak smile.
I went back to finishing my breakfast before going back up to my room and either recording a new YouTube video, playing with Wolf, or staring out of my window.
I finished eating and decided to stare out of my window. It was nothing new, but sometimes it's calming to just stare at the closed window of the other house that is literally 2 feet away from me.
I sat down on the couch positioned right in front of my window. I propped my elbows on the window sill and placed my head in my palms. I was prepared to stare at the closed window 2 feet away from me, only to be greeted by an open window. I was shocked at the unusual sight. That window has been closed for over a year and it was suddenly open? Not only that, but there were stacks of boxes in the usually empty room.
Since there was no closed window to stare at, I guess I should just stare at the open window and the boxes in the once empty room.
I must've been really tuned out because I didn't even notice the man staring back at me.
"Hi," the other man said.
I finally snapped out of it.
"H-Hello," I replied slightly embarrassed at the fact that I was staring at his room and didn't even notice his presence.
He gave me a smile and returned to unpacking the boxes in his room while I was still trying to comprehend what had just happened.
After that, all I could think about was...
Who was that?
