Kelley's POV
It's been 2 weeks and things with Alex have been going great. Also with Hope. I've spent more time with her and I've gotten to know her more. It would be safe to say that we are friends now.
I called Alex to see if she wanted to do something today since I was at home bored doing nothing.
"Hello?" Alex says trough the phone.
"Hey Alex! Wanna hang out at the field today?"
"Um I can't today. I'm not feeling so good today."
"Aww I'm sorry. Do you want me to come over?"
"No it's fine." Alex says.
"Okay. Well text or call me if you need anything. I'll see you tomorrow maybe."
"Okay. Bye Kel I love you."
"I love you to." I say as I hang up the phone.
I decided I would go to the field by myself so I have something to do. I grabbed my cleats and a soccer ball and went to the usual field Alex and me always go to.
When I get there I see Hope is there.
"Fancy seeing you here Hope." I say as I smile at her.
"I'd say the same to you Kelley."
"And your a goalie Hope, why'd you come here alone?"
"I just like coming her and I practice individual goalie things. And I thought you were gonna be with Alex today."
"She said she wasn't feeling good so I came here. Now you get in net and let's practice." I say. Hope puts on her gloves and heads to her line at goal.
I take some shots at her but Hope stops almost all of them.
"This is why I'm on defense." I say to Hope.
"Well they were pretty good shots for a defender."
After our time on the field we decided to go get lunch. We both decided to go to Panera.
Once we got there we ordered our food and sat down and ate. We talked about almost everything like we usually do.
"Kelley I'm really happy you gave me a second chance." Hope says.
"Me to I mean look at us it's like nothing ever happened."
"And nothing will ever happen again." Hope says with a smile.
As we were finishing I see a familiar face come in to the restaurant.
"Um isn't that Alex?" I turn around and see Alex walk in with a guy.
"Yea..."
"I thought you said she wasn't feeling well?"
"That's what I thought." I say.
"And who the heck is that guy?" Hope says pointing at the guy that came in with Alex."
"Servando..."
"That damn fool." Hope says as she starts walking over to them.
"No wait Hope let me handle this. Alex is my girlfriend."
"Okay I'll be outside." Hope says as she walks outside.
I take a deep breath and walk over to Alex and Servando.
"Um hey Alex."
"Kelley... hey"
Alex's POV
Guilt swept across my body as i saw Kelley. Why did I lie to her? She's my girlfriend and best friend and I never lie to her. I defiantly screwed this one up.
"I thought you weren't feeling well... " Kelley says with sadness in her eyes. I didn't know what to say.
"Is everything alright here?" Serv asked.
"Yea everything is fine." Kelley says as she starts walking away.
"Wait Kelley-"
"Don't Alex." Kelley says as the door shuts behind her.
"Are you okay Alex?" Serv asked me.
"Yea."
"Who was that?"
"It was just my friend Kelley..."
Damn it Alex you just lied again.
Kelley's POV
Once I leave the restaurant I begin to walk home. I felt tears fill my eyes.
"Kelley wait up!" Hope says as she runs to catch up with me.
"What happened?" Hope asked.
"Alex lied to me telling me she wasn't feeling well then I see her with Servando. She lied to me to be with him." I say as tears slip down my cheeks.
"I'm sorry Kelley." Hope says as she pulls me into a hug.
Hope walked me back to my house which I was thankful for.
"Do you need anything before I go?" Hope asked as she walked me to my front porch.
"No I'm good." I respond.
"Okay well text me if you need anything." Hope says as she begins to walk away.
"Wait Hope." I say as Hope turns around. I walk over to Hope and crash my lips onto hers.
"Thank you."
"Anytime Kelley." Hope says with a smile as she walks away.
I walk into my house and go to my room not wanting to do anything. I check my phone once in a while only to see a couple text messages from Alex but I ignore them.
Alex's POV
I rang the doorbell to Kelley's house and Kelley's mom answers it.
"Hi Alex! Did you come here for dinner?"
"Hi Mrs. O'Hara. I just came to talk to Kelley if that's okay."
"Go right ahead she's in her room."
"Thank you." I say as Kelley's mom lets me in. I quietly walk up the stairs to Kelley's room. Once I approach her room I lightly knock her door and open it.
"Hey Kel." I say as I see Kelley laying in bed facing away from me. I just wanted to go over and lay next to her.
"Go away Alex." Kelley says calmly.
"Come on Kelley can we please just talk?"
"Do you actually want to talk to me Alex?"
"Yes I want to talk to you. Not as your girlfriend but as your best friend."
"Best friends don't lie to each other Alex."
"I know Kelley. I know I messed up but can you please look at me so we can talk this out?"
Then Kelley forced herself out of bed and looked at me with her red teary eyes that I caused.
"I never meant to hurt you Kel."
"Yea then why'd you lie? And why were you with Servando?" Kelley says with her voice still surprisingly calm.
"Why aren't you yelling at Kelley? Why haven't you thrown something at me yet?"
"Because Alex it's so incredibly hard to be mad at you or to yell at you. It's so hard and it's exhausting to even try to be mad at you. You've done so much for me Alex I can't ever be mad at you."
I felt tears in my eyes after she said that. I regret lying to her. I regret yelling at her when I did.
"I'm so sorry Kelley"
"Why were you with him?" Kelley asked me.
"I don't know..."
"Are you seriously still gonna lie to me? Just tell me why you chose him over me. Please."
"I like him." I say softly but loud enough for her to hear.
"There that's all I needed to hear. I think we should just end it. We both know this isn't gonna work out." Kelley says.
"Yea okay."
"But I made a promise with you Alex and its to stay best friends. And I think it's better if we just stay friends."
"I still love you Kel."
"I'll always love you Alex."
I smile at my best friend and go over and give her a hug.
