I drove back to the house, where I found Mia pacing around in the kitchen, with the tears streaming down her face.
"Mia..." I said softly.
"He's dead. Jesse's dead." She cried hysterically.
I quickly dropped everything I had, and walked to her, pulling her into a hug."I'm so sorry Mia." I said quietly. Jesse was like a brother to her. The whole team was her family, and loosing them left her heartbroken.
I held her in my arms for a while, fighting my own tears.
"What about Dom?" She asked, pulling away from me, as she suddenly realized he wasn't back yet.
"He got away just before the police found us. He crashed the Charger, but then Brian gave him the keys to the Supra. He let him go." I explained quietly, leaving Mia confused. Bitterness spread across her face, when I mentioned Brian's name, but her expression softened, knowing that her brother got a chance to escape.
"Dom told me to meet him in Mexico. He said you would explain where to find him." I said questioningly.
Mia nodded in understanding.
Mia wrote down the directions for me.
"We went there a lot with our father in the summer." She said smiling to herself. Tears welled up in her eyes again.I rubbed her back soothingly.
"Come with me. You need to say goodbye to your brother." I said quietly. I knew he never would let Mia come with him. He wanted her to live a normal life. A happy life.
Mia hesitated for a moment."You guys probably want to spend some time alone." Mia said, brushing it off.
"Mia, he's your brother. You're the most important thing in his life. You need to come with me." I said smiling warmly at her.
"Go get your things. I'll just pack some of Dom's stuff." I said smiling, before I walked towards the stairs.
"I'll call someone to bring the cars and trailers home." I trailed off, as I ran upstairs.
I quickly packed all Dom's clothes and some of mine.
I had a hard time holding back my tears, as I went through his clothes.
The chance that he was ever going to come back home, was like 1 in a million.
I felt so confused. What should I do now? I couldn't leave Mia alone here for a life on the run with Dom, but I couldn't imagine a life without him either.A shaky sigh escaped my lips, as I zipped the last bag.
I packed the bags into Mia's Acura, since mine had broken glasses and bulletholes.
"I'm ready to go now." Mia said softly, as she walked up to me, with a bag in her hand.
"Okay. I'll just get my car inside the garage." I said, before I walked to my car and got in.
