Verone's guys eventually noticed that Roman and Brian was gone. They drove off and left me standing on the street.
I smiled satisfied to myself on my way back to the garage. I knew Brian and Rome were long gone, so my job was done and I did it good.
I walked back to the garage and relaxed, after working on my car. A couple of hours later Brian and Roman returned.
"Hey Jess. We're racing tonight. Can you help us get the cars back here?" Brian asked, as he walked into the garage.
"Sure." I said smiling, looking up from my car.
"You sure seem confident about winning this race." I said sceptically, crossing my arms, with a wide smirk across my face.
"I saw you get your ass kicked once. Are you really sure you can do it?" I asked smirking, before walking towards him, trailing my fingers over the body of my car.
Brian looked down and chuckled.
"So, you still have the Roadrunner." Brian said, almost a bit questioningly.
"Yeah. It reminds me of good times." I said smiling, while looking at my car.
"I remember every second I spend on his car. She reminds me of every second I spend in the shop, and in the garage. Every water fight." I finished, chuckling from the memory.
"She just means too much to let go." I said with a sad smile.
"I'm not ready to let go yet." I said sadly, before closing the hood.
Brian stared at me with a sad and guilty expression.
"Let's go get some cars." I said smiling, before walking off.
"Which type of cars is it?" I asked curiously as we walked off.
"Muscle cars." Brian answered smirking.
"Ah, that's why you asked me." I laughed.
Later that evening we all drove off. Suki and Tej went with Jimmy in the truck, while I went with Brian.
We arrived at the meeting place and just waited for the other drivers.
A 1969 Yenko Camaro SYC and a Dodge Hemi pulled up beside us. I almost jumped in excitement. The cars were amazing.
"Fonzie and Fabio. Glad you can join us." Roman said teasingly, as they got out of their cars.
"We heard you boys wanted to get rid of those CrackerJack toys." The driver of the Hemi said confidently.
"No. Actually we just figured those cars you got deserved better drivers, which is why we're gonna take 'em off your hands." Brian said, before sharing a smirk with me.
