Dominic's point of view
After I left Hobbs in his hospital bed, I called Mia. I had send her, Brian and the kids to the Dominicans, to protect them.
"Yeah, Mia, it's me. How's it going there?" I asked as she picked up.
"We're at Mando's. This place is like a fortress. You should see Brian. He's in full FBI mode. He built a surveillance hub in Mando's garage and everything." Mia chuckled, leaving me feel assured that it was the right thing to send them away.
"What about you? Did you find out who's after us?" Mia asked softly, with a slight hint of pain in her voice. She lost someone very dear to her, when Jess died.
"Looks like the sins of London have followed us home." I answered after I blinked away the tears that had been forming in my eyes as my thoughts went to Jess.
'How's Amelia?" I asked a bit concerned. I knew that she was in the best hands, but the whole situation wasn't ideal.
"She's good. She's playing with Jack." Mia answered like she was lost in thought for a moment.
"How did Buster take the news?" I asked, breaking the small silence.
"I can't tell him. If he knew about the baby, he'd stay here with us. And with all that's going on, you gonna need him by your side. Just watch out for him. Keep him safe. And come home together." Mia explained, getting all choked up.
"Tell Brian I'll see him in LA in two days." I quickly said before hanging up.
Two days later.
I was just staring at the casket as the preist spoke, not paying much attention to his words. I think I was left with no more tears to cry.
I missed her so much and I felt so much anger. Our life together had just begun and she had her whole life in front of her.
I felt my stomach tighten in sorrow as I watched Brian dry the heavy tears away from his face and it made me realize how much Jess meant to everybody around her. The whole team had showed up to pay their last respects to her.As the priest finished and everyone had cleared out, I stepped forward and placed a picture on the casket. It was from one of our barbecues at Mia and Brian's house in La Palma, where we were all gathered, even the kids.
"They say to live in the hearts of those we leave behind is not to die. But he put you in this grave. So now I'll do the same to him." I said quietly, as I stood in front of her casket, feeling a mix of anger and sorrow inside of me.
"I can't do no more funerals. First Jess. Now Hobbs is laid up, of all people." Tej said to Brian and Rome standing next to him, with sadness and worry in his voice.
"We're being hunted." He said with darkness in his voice before he continued.
"You know he's out there somewhere watching, right?" Tej said to Brian.
"I hope so. Means he's close." Brian answered to Tej as my eyes followed a car passing by.
"Just promise me, Brian.. No more funerals." Rome said speaking without any emotion.
"Just one more. His." Brian said with an intense look, just before I hurried to my car to follow the man watching us.
_
After my unpleasant meeting with Deckard Shaw, which was interrupted by an armed his team giving Shaw a chance to escape I was holding one of the men around his neck.
"Whoa, whoa. Easy, guys. We're on the same team here." A man with sunglasses said calmly as he walked closer.
"Mr. Toretto, I'm here on the recommendation of a mutual friend ofours. Mr. Hobbs." He started to explain.
