Chapter 24: Jealousy II

(Yuki's Pov)

The day was about to end and still, there are no sign of Kimiko and Zero.

I was feeling anxious and also a bit jealous...

Yes, I'm jealous of Kimiko because she's with Zero all the time, she protects him from others' harsh words. Zero would look at her with fascination and in awe.

His usual scowl would go away every time he looks at her.

And also, the way Kaname looks at her is so much different on how he looks at me. Back then, before she arrived, Kaname's eyes would always stop at mine and he would look at me so softly.

Now she's here, as if I was invisible, he would always stare at her with so much admiration and love. His face soften and his lips curves into a smile everything he locks his gaze at her.

I clenched my fists until they turned white. She's just been here for a month and she already had everyone on her delicate pinky!

I'm currently roaming around the building to do my job as usual until I saw a familiar figure, Yagari Toga.

I can't believe Headmaster would assign a vampire hunter to be the Night Class' teacher, he's clearly asking for a blood bath.

I ran after him and pulled his sleeves to stop him.

"What happened to Zero?" I asked immediately. "Have you done something to him?"

(Third Person's Pov)

Toga's blue eye glared down at the annoying girl. "It goes without saying. I've put him in isolation."

"Isolation?" Yuki was stunned.

"He is at the point where he could bare his fangs at any moment. This is so that he doesn't claim any victims before I can deal with him." He explained.

"But, Zero's alright, isn't he?" Yuki asked in concern.

Yagari was irked and harshly pulled his arms away from her grasp. "Let go of me. I have more pressing matters to attend to."

He turned his back at her and leaned the book he's carrying on his neck. "As for Zero, beats me if he's alright. After all, that woman is with him. I'm not surprised if she already ends him."

Yuki was frozen from her spot. "K-Kimiko is with Zero as I've suspected. What will she do to him?!"

"Hey, wait!" Yuki tried to stop him.

"Just do your job, little girl." He said before entering the classroom.

"I haven't seen Kiryū-kun today." Kaname appeared and walked pass her to enter his classroom.

"For his own good, perhaps you should reconsider his transfer to the Night Class." Turning his head towards her, he spoke in seldom harshness. His eyes were cold and dull, it is the first time Yuki saw him like this.

Opening the door, Kaname left Yuki alone of the dark corridor.

Kimiko and Zero are still inside the guest room. Kimiko was free to leave but refuse to leave Zero alone, she needs to monitor him.

Kimiko hid this from everyone, even her parents. Her blood is very special, which can turn a Level E sane and not thirsty for a few days before turning back.

Zero is the first vampire who bit her directly from her neck, meaning her blood's effect is at its peek and most effective. So, he might not experience thirst for a few weeks.

Kimiko uses a few drops of her blood when hunting for Level Es, she puts them on a concoction to create a type of poison for the vampires she's hunting.

"Do you feel anything?" She questioned.

"No, I actually feel great." It was strange, he would usually feel thirsty and his tattoo would sting.

Kimiko nodded. "That's good. You should tell me immediately if you feel even a slight discomfort."

Zero was confused but nodded in agreement.

Kimiko stood up from the bed and walked towards the window.

"Manipulating Kaien into agreeing is simple but for Toga, it might take a while." She solemnly informed. The window was opened so the cool breeze softly caress her chocolate curls.

She turned around and faced him, the moonlight glow behind her, making her appear as if a fairy.

"You're not going anywhere out of my sight, Zero. I've decided to take care of you."

Zero chest felt warm, his eyes sparkled at he stare at the woman in front of him.

He decided that it was only her he could trust in this damnable world, her and no one else.

"Okay."
