Aedda woke up the next day, hearing the birds chirping and seeing the sun shining brighter than ever. Everything was pleasantly quiet, too quiet for a Monday morning. Aedda blinked,  knowing she usually doesn't wake up early, it was strange for her to not wake up because of her alarm. Speaking of her alarm, she looked over at the digital clock and gasped.

Oh my god, I slept through my alarm! Aedda forced herself out of bed and hurriedly got ready. By the time she finished putting on her uniform, Aedda saw that she had 15 minutes to get to school. She groaned, that's not enough time for the bus.

She locked the door to her apartment and headed towards the apartment; only to be greeted by her next door neighbour. Aedda's rapid walking made the boy's head turn, instantly smiling.

"Oh, are you late too?" Jungkook asked, before the lift door opened and they both stepped inside.

They decided to run for it, arriving just before the late bell. Murmurs were heard when Jungkook and Aedda stepped inside the classroom together. Aedda, without noticing, walked towards her chair nonchalantly. Meanwhile, Jungkook could practically hear the jealousy of the girls in the classroom. Sitting down, the girls beside him were talking really loudly. He heard them giggling and glared at them. The girls apologised and turned around.

After taking the class register, the homeroom teacher left. Finally, Jungkook turned towards Aedda, who was reading a book, and called her name. After all, he was actually, unwillingly, excited about them two being friends. He no longer had to act cold and could finally get to know the girl. Except, he couldn't, since Aedda seemed to give more attention to the book than to the boy that was willing to be nice. However, that didn't discourage Jungkook, instead he thought he would grab her attention physically. Nothing dirty, just a poke on the cheek. Once he placed his finger on Aedda's smooth cheek, gasps and even more murmurs were heard from the other classmates. Although Aedda finally turned her attention to Jungkook, it was too late. A teacher already walked in and quietened the class down. All Jungkook could do now was sigh and turn away, leaving a confused look on the girl's face.

Lunch came around, and Aedda received a text from Baekhyun:

Meet me on the roof
Baekhyun

Unknowingly, Aedda turned to Jungkook.

He sighed, "just go, I want to be alone." With that, Aedda nodded, stood up and walked out of the classroom. Jungkook, on the other hand, thought about how he didn't want her to go- especially to Baekhyun. No matter if they were just best friends, Baekhyun knew Jungkook had feelings for Aedda. And Baekhyun will probably badmouth him, just to finally show Jungkook couldn't have everything.

On the roof, Aedda discovered what her best friend's job was.

Trying not to laugh, "so you work at a maid cafe?" As Baekhyun said, an ahjumma gave him a job at a maid cafe, since she thought he had a pretty face. In return, Baekhyun always had to wear ridiculous outfits and do things to entertain the lady guests.

"Yeah, but please don't tell anyone. It pays really well, maybe you can work there," Baekhyun says, but realised something, "you know what, don't. You'll probably break more than 10 plates on your first day." Baekhyun laughed, receiving a frail punch from the girl.

They finished their lunch, somehow  getting on the topic of Aedda's seat mate .

"I think it's best if you stay away from him." Baekhyun said, looking off into the distance.

"Why?" Aedda asked, suddenly curious in the relationship between the two boys.

Baekhyun faced her, "because, Jungkook is dangerous. Now come on let's go, the bell is gonna go any minute."

Aedda parted ways with her best friend at his classroom, going off to her own. On the way, she wondered what Baekhyun meant, how could Jungkook be dangerous?

As she approached her classroom, Aedda saw Jungkook and two other males talking. She knew who they were; the blonde one was Kim Taehyung and the brunette was Park Jimin. They once helped Aedda find her way to the staff room. In her opinion, they were very nice people. But of course she did, Aedda was totally oblivious of how troublesome the two could get.

The bell rang, Taehyung and Jimin took their leave, but saw Aedda looking at them blankly. They smiled, Taehyung waving her over. She obeyed and walked towards them, not noticing the people staring.

"Please take care of Jungkook." Taehyung smiled, waving goodbye as the two walked off.

Inside the classroom, Jungkook had his head down and the atmosphere around him was, well, very gloomy. Aedda asked if anything was wrong, receiving a head shake from the other. The rest of the afternoon, Aedda tried her best to not worry and focus on the lesson. Whilst Jungkook could only think about his discussion with his friends.

'"I see you're getting close to the Seoul girl." Jimin smirked, remembering how his friend cancelled on him once and said that he was spending time with someone.

"How do you know she's from Seoul?" Jungkook asked, receiving a smirk from his blonde friend.

"This is a local school, everyone knows everyone. Well, except for you and that girl, what was her name again?" Taehyjung asked, tilting his head a little.

"Aedda." Jungkook spat, hearing laughs from the other two.

"So, you like her, don't you?" Taehyung asked, getting silence in return.

Jimin smiled, "if you do, then protect her. Don't let it end up like last time."
