It was finally Christmas day. Aedda would be lying if she said that she was happy about her current situation. Jungkook didn't come to school for a quite a while, and when he did; Jungkook didn't say a word to the girl. Beakhyun, on the other hand, made it his duty to be with Aedda whenever he could. They walked together to and from school, him picking her up. Aedda hasn't spoken to any of the Jeons ever since the incident. Min Hee was told that she was studying hard for her exams, in which the child calmed down. Aedda luckily avoided any questions from her parents, who had no idea she spent a night in a boy's apartment.

Now, Aedda was putting on the red dress her mother bought. It had see through sleeves, making it appear sleeveless. The skirt of the dress came just above her knee, it was puffy and covered her from any embarrassment. Fortunately, the family only had to go to the door next door. Today was actually the first Christmas all the Ryus were together, since her brothers moved out. Jae came back with his girlfriend, who Aedda met once and, to say honestly, adored. The twins and parents were already in the Jeons apartment, leaving Aedda alone.

She twirled around, looking at the dress and decided to put the black tights on, that they came with. The girl inspected her face, debating if she should put make up. In the end, she applied her favourite cherry lipstick. I don't think I need more, she thought.

Hesitantly, she knocked on her neighbours door. Suddenly, she remembered the first time she knocked on the door. She blushed at the memory, knocking once again. The door handle clicked and Aedda's heart started throbbing harder at the sight. Jungkook was wearing a red suit, with a black dress shirt. They stared at each other in awe, Aedda finally noticing his hair. It was no longer jet black, but red- matching his suit.

After a moment of silence, Mrs Jeon came into the corridor and gasped, "oh my, Aedda you look amazing!" She hugged the said girl, then turned to her son (who was just looking blank) and took both of their hands, putting Aedda's in Jungkook's.

"What kind of gentleman are you? You're meant to lead the lady to the table, not make her wait in the hallway." The boy's mother laughed and left to sit at the table. The two looked down at their hands, and Aedda was ready to take hers off, when Jungkook suddenly intertwined his fingers with hers and dragged her inside without a word.

Min Hee jumped with joy, "unnie, sit with me!" Aedda laughed and did as she was told. Before she realised what was happening, Jungkook sat next to her and started piling food on his plate. The parents conversed and laughs filled the table. Aedda and Jungkook sat in silence, whilst Min Hee went for her evening nap.

Unexpectedly, Jungkook stood up, intertwining his fingers with Aedda's again and pulling her up. She was about to ask what was going, but Jungkook smiled at her.

"Don't worry, they won't even notice we're gone." He explained and dragged her out of the apartment.

"Wait, are we going outside? I don't have my coat with me." Aedda said. Immediately, Jungkook went back inside and came back with a jacket.

"Here, wear this." He handed it to Aedda, who put it on without a second to think. The jacket smells like him, she thought and instantly blushed.

They reached the wooden area, which was now dark and frosty, because of the cold weather. Aedda gasped at the sight, it was marvellous. The moon shined straight onto the river, making the whole area look like a fairy tale.

Jungkook sat on the bench and looked up, "sometimes I come here at night, to think."  Aedda also looked up and saw stars filling the night sky. She felt a tight squeeze on her hand and looked at Jungkook, who was looking deeply in her eyes. He let go of her hand, and Aedda felt the coldness hitting her warm hands. Jungkook looked for something, he smiled when his hands found a box. It's a small box, and Aedda wondered what it could be.

"Open it." Jungkook said, looking at her. She obeyed and her eyes widened as she saw what's inside. "It's nothing big,  but I saw that you liked it and bought it."

Aedda looked over to Jungkook, then back at the monkey keyring. She remembered how she saw it in the store once.

She smiled, "thank you. I feel bad though, I didn't give you anything."

Jungkook shook his head, if only she knew how much she gave to me. "Actually, it's not really a Christmas present, it's more of an apology present. I wanted to say sorry for all the mess I got you in. I want to start again, as real friends and... This time I want to protect you." He paused, before looking at her, "so what do you say? Friends?"

She nodded, "friends." With that, they turned back to the stars and Aedda thought back to everything that happened since she moved.

Maybe, just maybe, it won't be so bad to live here.
