Chapter 14: Comes to the light

2 Weeks Later

I frowned as I watched him getting dressed. He put on his uniform buckling his belt these past 4 weeks together have been everything. We got to know each other better, I met his parents he met mine, we've been on dates and really getting it on If you know what I mean. I just hope he doesn't get too caught up in work like before. I got up from the edge of his bed wrapping my arms around his waist. "Do you have to go in? I whined. He turned his head looking at my puppy face. "Yes, darling gotta get back to the money you know, I've been short for a minute" he chuckled and I playfully hit him pushing him away. I walked to his kitchen  grabbing his lunch bag I surprised him with. I know I shouldn't be playing wife because I damn sure not his mother but he deserves it. He came in "I know you're not really mad girl" he laughed and I handed him his lunch bag.

"What's this? He asked.

"I made you some real food for your lunch, there's more than life to a cup of noodles babe" I said

Jacob

I smiled opening the bag I had fresh fruit, a gatorade , chicken salad, crackers and a donut. I was so happy this was really thoughtful of her. I was really feeling this , feeling her. I think I even loved her. I looked in her sparkly black eyes. "Aww thanks love, I can't wait to eat this" I said pecking her lips. She fixed my badge "Well you have a great day officer I'll be here when you get back" She said. I bit my lip "Ummm girl let me get out here before you make me late. I'll see you later" I chuckled as she closed the door.

It felt good to walk into the station. I missed being around my boys and just the action of everything. I clocked in and the first person I saw was my boss. I still felt some way that he suspended me but I guess his boss would get in his ass if he didn't take action.

"Wassup Latimore glad to have you back man" he said dapping me up as if he wasn't the one that suspended me but whatever. 

"Glad to be back man" I said walking into the locker room. When I came in things were still the same Daniel and a few of the other guys I were cool with were in the same spot.  "So niggas not gonna acknowledge me" I said.

Daniel turned around and ran to me as soon as he saw me. "Ohhhhhhhh shit bro back" he said hugging me. "Wassup baby " he said (Not a gay term straight guys say it)

"Aint nothing new just ready to work man" I said dapping a few others up. "Come on man you know you my partner in crime" he  said walking out as I followed him.

"Nigga I'm driving" I said in excitement. I feel like a kid on christmas better yet I feel like an inexperienced teen getting some ass for the first time.

Later that Day

Daniel and I were chilling in the car looking for any possible thing to do. Seems like it was a pretty chill day out. 

"10-31"

"We have a man with a gun, man with a gun we need back up"

I quickly sped down the street. "32nd street" Daniel said. I felt a rush going through my body I was super thrilled to be in action again. Daniel and I walked in the scene with a couple of rookies. A man had a gun up to a ladies head. 

"Sir put the gun down" Daniel. "I swear if you two come closer I will blow her head off" The criminal said. This was a trap house and I'm guessing the lady or one of her family members got her in this mess.

"Tell your man to get me my money" he said. He then pointed the gun towards us, I slowly pulled out my trigger and shot him in the shoulder watching him fall to the ground. The lady quickly ran over to us crying in shock. The rookies looked amazed and shocked.
