The lecture wasn't too complicated, but my mind would not stop jumping back to the terrifying event of earlier today. 'Kevin' could have a family. What if Kevin is just a baby? What if there are bigger spiders within my old, run down apartment? Why am I still calling it Kevin?

The fear of Kevin's family was on my mind even as I got ready for my job at Dunkin Donuts. I refused to take my shoes off. It was fairly difficult to take off black skinny jeans and put on fancy work pants with rubbery vans on, but I didn't care. As long as I avoid the spiders.

But what if one is in my shoe?

Fuck.

I'm not gonna think about that...

I arrived at work and began doing my job for the day: taking orders and making them for people. It wasn't very entertaining, but at least I was getting a bit more than minimum wage. Besides, the employee discount is great. I get all the donuts and iced coffee I want for free. Who wouldn't love that?

"I'll have some black coffee and four glazed donuts." I heard a familiar voice say to Danielle, my fellow worker. My head snapped around and I rolled my eyes in annoyance. It was one of my neighbor's hot ass friends who never shuts up at his apartment and seems to not know that our walls are thin. I believe he's the loudest. His outgoing personality fits his ever changing hair. Currently, it's a bright shade of red.

"Black coffee and four glazed." Danielle chirped at me. I rolled my eyes as I prepared his order. Knowing what I had to do next, I took a breath to mentally prepare myself. I mean, he is hot as hell. I'm one who doesn't fall for people because of their looks, rather their personality, but damn, this boy and his friends are all really fucking attractive.

"Here you are." I turned and placed his order on the table and avoided looking up, knowing that I wouldn't be able to take my eyes off him if I did. "That will be $11.41."

"Wait... Are you sure..." He muttered. Breaking my promise to myself, I met his eyes. Damn, he's got one beautiful pair of green eyes.

"Is... Is something the matter?" I asked, attempting to break our awkward eye contact.

"Are you sure that there are no huge spiders in this?" He smirked.

He did not just...

Fuck the boy next door.

I blushed and looked back down at his order sheepishly. "Positive."

He chuckled. "I'm Michael. Ashton always complains about you but you seem pretty chill. I mean, who wouldn't be terrified of giant bugs in your apartment when you're all alone?"

"Ashton?" I shrugged. Is that my neigbors name?

"God damn, he was being serious when he said you knew nothing about each other." He laughed. "That's your curly headed superhero next door to you."

Oh, okay. Well, fuck Ashton.

"Oh."

"Yeah. He pointed you out to us a few times. He always tells us how you run to-"

"Can you pay now?" I begged, desperately wanting to get out of this awkward and embarrassing situation. He points me out to his friends?

"Only if I can get your number." He smirked.

"Michael!" I scolded him, even though I've just met him. "Either pay me or leave without your order!"

"Fine." He groaned, pulling out his wallet. My jaw dropped as I spotted several hundred dollar bills within his wallet. I quickly hid my shock as he handed me his credit card and I swiped it, giving it back to him.
