Chapter 37- Searching

Deeks' POV

"What happened Deeks? Who did this to you?" Kensi asked, staring at me with her big brown eyes.

"I don't know who he was, but apparently King paid him to kill whoever took him out."

She stood up and threw her hands in the air. "I knew it! I knew King was behind this. So this guy was an assassin, basically."

"Pretty much." I shifted uncomfortably, and a wave of pain made me cringe. My entire body was either beaten or stabbed, so any sort of movement made me close to tears.

"Deeks?"

"I think I'm gonna get some sleep." I said weakly.

"First, is there anything you can tell us about what he did that seemed odd? It could help us identify him."

I thought back to the painful memory. "He, oh, didn't get into my apartment by kicking in the door. He did that as he left, probably to throw us off."

"You were awake the whole time? Deeks, you didn't tell me that." Kensi looked worried now.

"It didn't come up..."

"Okay, just get some sleep. I'll be back in a few hours, do you need anything?"

"Could you get some Jello, they're serving that sugar free shit now, and that isn't humane, I'm in PAIN, I deserve some real cool jiggily dessert."

"Okay, Deeks." She let out a small laugh, but that didn't take away the tired look in her eyes. She was blaming herself for what happened. I know that look of guilt anywhere. She turned on her hells, and walked out of the room, leaving me alone with my pain and three cups of sugar free lime jello.

My heavy eyelids easily bolted shut as I drifted out of reality, out of the painful world, and into dreamland.

Kensi's POV

I knew it. I freaking knew it. King did this to Deeks, and now I'm ready to kick some serious ass. When Callen and Sam met up with me back at the boatshed, I deceided it would be the perfect time prove them wrong.

"Deeks said the assassin told him that King sent him to murder whoever killed him. The words came from him mouth, and I was sooo right."

"Fine, but will you stop acting like a five year old so we can figure out who this guy is?" Callen sighed, obviously mad that he was wrong.

"I already took care of that. I called Eric on the way here and asked him to check all the databases for similar hitmen cases that had the same MO." I stated proudly.

"There was no MO though, besides using mutiple weapons, which isn't rare with assassins."

"No, this guy didn't crash though the door and attack Deeks, he did that after the stabbings. To disarm him, the hitman choked him to the floor, then began his torture. Afterwards, he broke down the door to throw us off, which he would have if Deeks didn't see him do it."

"Deeks was awake that long? Damn." Sam muttered.

"Okay so there was an MO. Do we have any suspects?" Callen asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Make that suspect. There is only one alleged hitman that is this specific in his work. Nell got him off Interpool for similiar murders all across Europe, and more recently, the East coast. Five months ago there was the murder of that rich software developer in San Diego that still hasn't been solved, but they think it's this man:"

I held up my tablet to show the photo of a black haired, gray eyed man looking over his shoulder, most likely to check for tails or signs of someone following him.
