Chapter 40- Improv
Kensi's POV
"Who are you, and who do you work for? You lie, I shoot you in the stomach." Nicks growled, pushing the gun harder into my abdomen.
"What the hell are you talking about? I told you who I am." I winced.
"Deeks, your little boyfriends is a fucking COP, Natalie. I knew his name sounded familiar, so I asked a friend of mine at the LAPD, and he said Deeks used to be a detective. How am I supposed to believe a girl that basically approached me is for real?"
"Ozzy, I swear, I had no idea Deeks was a cop. I dated him while I was also with Manny, maybe he was investigating me or something? Please, just put the gun away, you're scaring me."
Nicks finally slid the gun back in his waistband, but grabbed my chin and neck roughly. Leaning in real close, he spoke in a low, angry voice.
"You better not be lying because if you are I will not hesitate to give you a slow, painful death. Get out of my house."
"Wait, Ozzy, I do have a confession to make."
He squeezed tighter on my throat. "What."
"I-I approached you because I wanted to make a business deal. I am sort of a manager for business men like yourself. That's how I met Manny. I made his small business selling heroin go from hitting up stupid teenagers after school to making millions. Now Manny got greedy, and discontinued my services, but now I want to help you take his empire down."
"Why would you do that? There are many other dealers in Los Angeles, why me?" Nicks finally loosened his grip, and sat back in the chair next to me.
"Because I know who has what it takes to double, even triple their products. Some people just can't handle it, like Manny. In a few years, he will realize what a mistake it was firing me because you will be running the streets. Venice will be your's again, you just have to make me part of your crew."
"And what if I say no?"
"Then it's your loss when some low-life, that no one's ever heard of suddenly drives you out of Los Angeles all together because he found out the secrets to being the best."
Ozzy stroked his chin slowly. I hoped that he would agree and wouldn't just shoot me. I really needed to have a talk with Deeks about calling me in the middle of an operations...
"Fine. Give me your number, and I'll text you a meeting place."
I scribbled out my burn phone number and handed him the sticky note.
"But seriously, get out of my house. I have some work to do." I picked up my clutch, and headed towards the door without a word. "Oh, and Natalie? Don't think I won't check every resource I have available to ensure you are who you say you are."
"I wouldn't expect any less." I smiled, and closed the front door behind me.

Deeks' POV
"What the hell was that? You can't just call me in the middle of an op, Deeks." yelled Kensi as she stormed into my hospital room. Her sudden loud tone made me jump, spilling a glass of juice all over my gown.
"I said I was sorry! He bought your ex boyfriend story too, so it's all good." I shrugged. I don't know what she was so worked up about. Sure I messed up, but Kensi is a good actress and can play it off.
As soon as those words escaped my mouth, Kensi's entire mood went even farther south. Her face went dark and more angry. She stepped forward towards the bed, and bent down to that we were face to face.
