When I woke up the next morning, I was so glad it was Saturday and didn't have anything to do. That was until I got a call from Kacey telling me to meet her at the warehouse. Yes, like all bad kids we had a warehouse that we all hung out at when we were bored. I quickly took a shower and got dressed in my favorite sweats and a crop top that said "Don't judge me" on it. When I walked out of my house, car keys in my hand, I saw a familiar face that I hadn't seen in almost a month. When he saw me, he immediately ran over to me and hugged me as if I would slip away right there. "Oh my goodness Sean it's only been a month, you're going to squeeze me to death." He chuckled at my comment as he let go of me and looked at my face. "I'm sorry Karma", he said. But he realized his mistake of calling me by the name I used to go by when I got a cold look in my eyes. "Shit, I-I'm sorry, It just slipped out of my mouth," he said to me. "It's ok," I said going back to hugging him. Sean was Jack's cousin, and my best friend. He knew more about me than his cousin even did, especially since he was with me through everything. He was like a brother to me and even more, he reminded me of the one that I had.
**Two Years Ago**
I could hear gunshots ringing all over the place. As I walked through the forest, I could hear someone calling my name. "Karma, come here." I knew it was my brother and I ran over to him, fearing that something had happened to him. When I saw him standing over a body with sadness in his eyes, I knew he was okay but someone else was hurt. As I walked over to the body I knew that it was his best friend. I hugged him, my back turning away from the caos as I told him "I know that you're hurt but we have to move, It isn't safe to stand here and sulk all night." He nodded, all the hurt gone from his eyes replaced with anger for the people who had hurt his best friend. He was like me, he blocked out the pain and replaced it with anger. When we turned around and started to run, we heard a voice that was so familiar but I couldn't quite place my mind on it. But as I turned around I knew exactly who it was. As the man who was in his mid-20's rose the gun in his arms, the only thing I noticed was his cold, dead eyes. When he put his finger on the trigger, I couldn't move from my spot. I was scared. For the first time in my life, I was scared. He chuckled, a cold laugh and said "cat got your tongue princess?". At this, my brother snapped and shouted "Leave her alone Jimmy, what do you want?". "What I came here for, and I'm not leaving until I get it", Jimmy stated. One thing I knew from him was that when Jimmy wants something, he won't stop until he gets it. When he pressed the trigger, aimed at me, all I could do was stare at his cold eyes. Piercing through my soul, checking to see if we had what he wanted. Then I heard a gunshot ring out. I was pushed to the side and the last thing I heard was "NO", as I fell to the floor and blacked out.
**
"Woah Bea I'm sorry, I didn't even know I was squeezing you that hard", Sean said while wiping something wet off of my face. I realized those were traitor tears falling out of my eyes as I remembered the way my brother died. All because I couldn't fucking move. I still remember Jimmy's eyes, so cold and dead. At least he was dead now, or else he'd be first on my kill list. I realized that we were still standing there, In front of my house. I let go and told him "I'm sorry, it's not you, I was just thinking of my brother." "That's alright," he said while kissing my forehead. I had missed him while he was gone. I wiped away whatever those wet things on my cheeks were and turned to him "Do you want to come to the warehouse to hang out with us?" I asked. "Naw, I have some stuff to take care of at home, I'll see you guys later though." He replied and walked back to his house while waving. I smiled and got into my car, only Sean could make me remember what it was like to actually be happy.
As soon as I walked into the warehouse I heard shouting coming from all my friends and wondered what crazy shit they were doing in there again. I walked to the inside and saw Kacey sitting on Jack's back as he tried to get her off of him, Kaleb was singing Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus while twerking in the middle of the room. I shook my head in pity as I realized that my friends were not humans, but animals in a freaking zoo. When Kacey noticed me, she got off of Jack and asked me what took me so long. "I met Sean and we just caught up a little before coming here," I answered her question while grabbing a red cup with Jack Daniels in it. Her eyes lit up as she heard his name and I smirked knowing how Kacey was totally smitten with him even if she wouldn't admit it. But then she frowned and asked,"Why didn't he come with you?" I shrugged and told her how Sean was a but busy with stuff at home. She booed and walked away to go back to the table where the drinks were.
"So guys,----NO", Kaleb started to speak as Jack cut him off. "Let the poor guy speak Jack, jesus," I glared at him. Jack backed down and pouted, "Fine, speak Kaleb." Those words were enough for Kaleb to be pumped up again as he finished speaking, "There's a party tonight and I was wondering if you guys wanted to go, since we're all invited." We all looked up at him and smirked, we hadn't been to a party in a while now and wanted to get our game back on. Who knows, by the end of the party we could all be drunk or high, you never know with teenage parties these days.
