Chapter Ten – Let It Go

(Atif's Pov)

"Ammi, I'm so tired today, I had so much work to do!"

"My son has grown up so much, your only 14 and you work so hard!"

"Ammi, without Abbu I would have gotten no job elsewhere."

"No, I don't believe that for one second, my son is hardworking, strong and capable to do anything even without the help of your father. May Allah always grant you success Atif."

"I love you Ammi."

"I love you too Atif!"

"Ammi, where is Abbu?"

"He must be in his room, you can check yourself whilst you're going upstairs to freshen up. Come down quickly bring your father along too, I'll take out dinner in the meantime."

"Okay Ammi."

I walked up the stairs excitedly as I wanted to tell my father my birthday was in a week and I wanted a new phone for my birthday. I knew my father would never decline and he always made sure I received everything I wanted. I didn't ask him for many things just once in a while. He asked me weeks before to decide and tell him what I wanted. And now that I did I thought I might go tell him.

I walked inside the room and looked around from him. I saw my father outside in the balcony though the strange part was he was on the other side of the railing. I was about to walk out and ask my father what he was doing but before I could do anything he jumped off.

"ABBBBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU"

I woke up panting and looking at my surroundings.

"Atif, what happened," Ayaat got up surprised looking at me concerned.

I couldn't speak, no words were coming out. It came again, this day, the day it happened, the day I lost him. I got out of bed and walked out. Ayaat followed me close behind as I went downstairs and into the kitchen. I opened the lights and picked up the glass but my hand was shaking too much that I almost dropped it but Ayaat took the glass off of me and opened the tap putting some water in it. She pulled me towards the chair and made me sit down. I was in no shape or form to hold the glass so she brought it to my lips helping me drink it. After I was done she put the glass away taking a seat beside me.

"What happened," she asked softly.

"B-b-bad d-d-dream," I stuttered saying.

"What did you see?" she asked whispering.
