Chapter Nineteen – I Can't Lose Her
(Atif's Pov)
I walked up towards the address that Komal didi had written for me. I took a deep breath and walked towards the front door. What should I do? Ring the bell? I placed my hand on the door knob and turned it and surprisingly it opened. I walked inside and called out Ayaat's name.
I felt this strange feeling here, I walked around and towards the kitchen, everything was scattered into bits and pieces. I turned towards the other side of the room and saw Ayaat curled up against the wall with a knife in her hand, watching down her hand moving towards her chest, I bolted towards her.
"AYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT!"
Without any thought or hesitation I hurriedly pulled away the knife and threw it away. She looked up at me petrified with big blotches of tears flowing down her face. I made her stand up and took her into my arms in bridal position. I saw her hands and legs were all covered in blood, she didn't have any shoes on, god knows how much glass gotten into her skin.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" I shouted at her as I carried her towards the main door.
But she didn't respond instead her eyes and body fell back but I held tight onto her so she wouldn't fall.
"Ayaat!" I yelled her name.
She didn't respond.
I hurriedly carried her towards my car placing her inside and driving to the hospital in firing speed.
As soon as I arrived there, I carried her inside, calling out for anyone to help me. A doctor came instantly telling me to follow him and place her on the stretcher.
They took her straight into emergency as soon as she left my sight and I lost my balance.
She is my life, I can't lose her, I need her...Ya Allah please save her.

"We need somebody to give her blood" the doctor
"Yes, me, I'm her husband, I'll donate my blood," I spoke getting off my seat.
"No sir, we can only get blood which matches her level and her blood group is B+."
"I'm B+ where's Ayaat, please take me towards her so I can give my blood," my father spoke.
The doctor took him with him.
My mother took a seat beside me she placed her hand on top of mine.
"Atif, don't worry, everything will be just fine."
"Ammi am I a really bad person?"
"No Atif, why would you say that, don't even dare to think like that so remove that thought from your head."
"Abbu left me without saying and now Ayaat is leaving me."
"Atif, nothing will happen to Ayaat!"
"Ammi instead of them dying, why doesn't Allah just take my life instead?"
"ATIF, DON'T EVER SAY THAT AGAIN!"
"Ammi if something ever happens to Ayaat I will di-"
"I'm am telling you nothing will happen to her, you will always protect her and remove all the pain from her life, I know you Atif, I trust you will keep her safe!"
"I don't think I can." I mumble looking down.
My mother lifted my chin and made me look into her eyes "I never gave born to you for you to give up, I know my son is a fighter, I know you will do anything in your will to save her, to protect her, to love her, to give her the happiness she deserves. I know my son and more of all I know my son's heart, it is so pure that any pain and darkness from inside Ayaat will one day come and I know you will be there to hold her together."
My father and the doctor returned so I asked the doctor how she was.
He didn't reply.
I asked again.
He still didn't reply.
Anger burnt through me as I yelled from the top of my lungs "I ASKED YOU HOW MY WIFE IS!"
"Atif," my father said calmly holding me and making me sit down.
"Why won't he tell me how she is, is she okay?" I said in panic.
He wrapped his arms around me and spoke "she'll be fine Atif, just have patience."
"If she will be find, then why isn't he saying she will be," I almost shouted at my father.
"Atif, Atif, calm down, nothing has happened to her, just sit down," he spoke calmly.
"No I'm not going to relax until I know she is fine," I repeated.
"Atif, calm down, I am saying she is fine, I just gave her blood, she will take a while to come back that's all and it's nothing else!"
"No you are lying to me! She's going to leave me isn't she, no she can't go like this, she just can't leave me."
"Atif"
"No she can't leave me, she just can't!"
"Atif!"
"No she can't leave me, she just can't leave me at all."
"Atif, please come down, just hold yourself together and have a bit of patience, everything will be alright, just relax."
My father placed his hand around my shoulder and I looked up at him and whispered "she cannot leave me, she cannot leave me like this, she cannot leave me at all."
Before my father could reply, I closed my eyes and drifted away.
