{ Chapter 10 }

I finish my shower and head downstairs to go find Aspyn. I make my way through the living room and find Jess on her phone with Calum on the other couch. I find Aspyn in the kitchen at the counter on her phone.

"Who you texting?" I ask looking through the paper bag grabbing a burger then sitting next to her.

"Just letting dad know I'm at your place." I just nod and we sit in silence again. I look back my shoulder to check on Jess and Calum, and both have fallen asleep. I turn back to Aspyn.

"I found out who's giving me the hickeys." I say taking a bite into my burger. Aspyn sets down her soda.

"Well, who is it?"

"It was Michael" I see her stiffen. I turn to her and show her the hand print mark. She touches all over the mark. I then show her the bruise on my lip.

"How do you know it was him?" she says after observing the marks.

"Well I mean, there's the hand print and the bruise on my lip." I shrugged.

"Just cause of that, it doesn't mean Michael did it." She spat back.

"Well then explain why I started getting them once he came back" I was almost yelling at this point and I didn't even know why. I thought she was going to believe me.

"I don't know, I just don't think it was him ok Cass. Maybe you're tired. It just doesn't seem like you've slept in a while." You can tell she was getting nervous. Her knee was bouncing and she wouldn't stop touching her hands.

"Yea, I do need some sleep" I say questioningly "how bout I walk you home so I can take a nap."

"No it's ok I can walk myself."

"Are you sure?"

"Yea of course, totally fine. I'll see you tomorrow". By now she was out the door and I headed straight upstairs to make it seem like I was going to sleep even though she couldn't see me. I look outside my window to see if Aspyn had already left but she was on the curb talking to someone on her phone, looking quite angry. I was about to head back downstairs but once I took a step back from the window, the last thing I remembered was hitting the floor blacking out.
