Who has to know

When we live such fragile lives

It's the best way we survive

I go around a time or two

Just to waste my time with you

I was currently in the library "working" on some boring English report while listening to some music when I was rudely interrupted by someone yanking off my earbuds.

"Hey what the hell man, you got a problem?" I snapped wondering who interrupting my blank thoughts.

"I should be asking you that." said Aspyn, who currently looked like a mix of pissed and worried. I couldn't blame the girl. Although we've known each other for our whole lives, she still wasn't used to seeing me run off. It was a rare habit I did whenever I needed some space and right now the library was the only place that I could go to.

"Damn, sorry." I mumbled slowly moving into a more comfortable position in my chair. Aspyn started getting food out and putting it in front of me while asking, "What's wrong why did you run out? And for real this time you looked like you didn't sleep for a month."

shit did I look that bad? I thought to myself. "Nothing's wrong" I tried to reassure her but I knew she would believe it.

"Okay fine" I huffed before telling her about the bruises on my jaw and neck not telling her the real reason why I ran out. I spent the whole day trying to remember what happened last night which could've helped figure out the cause of the bruises, but I also had trouble with that too.

"You must have had a hell of night Cass." Aspyn chuckled as I laughed along with her at the sound of my nickname.

"Too good to even remember." I shrugged. Soon the bell rang and we started to gather our things and headed out the building and into the hallway.

I had too many thoughts clouding around my brain as we headed towards our last class, English. I sighed in relief as I sank into my seat, since there wasn't much to do in this class I rested my head on the cool table letting my mind rest from such a stressful day. Projects here tests there, it wan't too much for me to handle but it was one of those weeks where the periods went by too slowly and I wanted to get home as soon as possible.

The class was settling in and the teacher stood up with some news to say, "Okay kids before you go chatty, I just wanted to remind you that projects are due in two weeks" I cringed as he called us kids, no matter how cool the teachers was I always thought it was weird for someone else other than our parents to call us kids. "and we got a new student"

As soon as I heard that my head shot up to find a student with unruly red hair sticking out in different places, standing in front of the class. Once our eyes met he immediately smirked as if he was pleased with the reaction he got from me. I narrowed my eyes at him and rested my head back down as the old man dismissed the class to go back to whatever they were doing. The boy started making his way towards the empty desk next to me, for some reason there was something familiar about him. I ignored the thought since I had too many things going through my head.

"Don't act so bitter around me Cass" the stranger said. There was a thick Australian accent that laced around his voice.

Horror took over my body once I heard his voice realizing it was him.
