Saying Goodbye
This is a song written about my grandfather's passing. Read Chapter 24 in my book to find out just how wonderful of a man he was.
I get in the kitchen, my dads says he is gone,
My mom stares in shock but we catch right on,
Tears fall from ev'ryone's eyes, realizing it was true
The guilt pored into us because we hadn't knew,
The man our grandpa was, my dad was there that day,
He showed no sign of suffering before he looked his final way.
The next I would see was an open casket,
I was missing from school and everyone asked it,
"Why were you gone" "at least u didn't know him."
Nobody knew the fight as the lights went dim,
Blaming myself for not knowing this hero,
Hurting myself as each of these tears go,
"Goodbye" was the last word that left my mouth,
Two years before the hospital, grandpa was in and out.
