It was around 9:00 pm when Amy dropped Maya off at her house.
"Thank you," maya said before she got out of the car. She looked at Lucas and frowned. She got her bags out of the trunk. Amy helped her bring them up to her apartment.
"I'm so sorry, sweetie," Amy said, when she saw Maya was crying again.
"It's not your fault," Maya replied.
Amy gave Maya a hug and Maya hugged her back.
"Bye," Amy said before she left. Maya entered her apartment and was shocked to see her mom on the couch watching tv.
"Maya?" Katy asked, shocked to see her daughter come through the door. "What are you doing home?"
"I'll tell you after I bring my bags in," Maya replied. Katy helped her bring her bags to her room and then they went back to the living room and sat on the couch.
"So tell me what's wrong and why you're crying," Katy said.
"Get ready for a story," Maya replied. She explained everything that happened. Her mom had a comment on almost everything. Maya wasn't surprised, though. She expected that.
"Oh, baby, I'm so sorry," Katy hugged Maya when Maya finished explaining everything. "I'm gonna beat up that kid Andrew:"
"Why does it hurt so much?" Maya cried.
"Love can do that," Katy said.
"I just thought-" Maya cut herself off by her own sobs.
"Thought what?" Katy asked.
"I don't know anymore!" Maya cried.
"I know baby,"!Katy replied.
"I really liked him," Maya sobbed.
"I know you did," Katy replied. "And he really liked you, too."
"Then why did he break up with me?"
"Because of what happened," Katy said.
"Why did that stupid guy have to ruin everything? I was having the best summer ever but then they came along and ruined everything!" Maya cried.
"Why don't you just lay down?" Katy suggested. Maya did as told and laid her head on her moms legs. They watched the whole movie. But Katy was mostly hearing Maya's sobs.
