a/n: song above; you'll know when it's time.

I wake up, groaning and blindly patting for my phone, which is blaring a loud and annoying noise.

I unlock my iPhone and turn off the alarm. The phone falls to the floor, and I curl back up in my sheets, not wanting to get up at all.

Yesterday was boring because I barely saw Calum at school, and I had to go to Ashton's to meet up with his mom and talk logistics of living here. She says she does not mind me staying at all, but I do need to help around the house and am expected to have and take the same responsibilities Ashton has.

The day before was dinner with Calum and his mother, which was nerve-wrecking but relieving at the same time because I finally sat down and met the person who raised Calum to be the amazing person he is today.

I attempt to grab my phone off of the floor, but the item is just out of my reach, and I end up falling off of the bed, landing straight on my nose.

"Fuck!" I whisper-scream, not wanting to wake up Ashton in the room to the left of me.

I pick up my phone and force myself to get up off the ground and check the time.

7:42 a.m. flashes from my lockscreen, showing me the date is Thursday the 16th.

I sigh and rub my nose. I see that I have a message notification from Calum.

Hey love. I hope you slept beautifully and didn't wake up too upset that it isn't Friday, hehe. I love you, see you at school x

I smile at Cal's cuteness and text him back immediately.

Thanks cutie. I hope you did too :)

I set down my phone on my bed, and while I wait for his reply, I strip myself of my boxers and shirt I slept in. I pick out an outfit featuring skinny jeans—which isn't a surprise—and a Harley Davidson shirt along with a blue denim jacket.

I look in the mirror and see the discoloration on the bridge of my nose starting to form, and I sigh, exasperated. I attempt to fix my red hair, which was dyed by Lauren who, I have to admit, did a pretty rocking job. She has been begging to do my hair for as long as I've been dying it, and I finally let her since I wasn't going to be hearing the end of it anytime soon.

I check my phone and see Calum texted back, agreeing to my proposal happily.

I smile at his response and get ready for school by finishing up my morning routine. On my way out, I bang on Ashton's door, it being around eight o'clock.

"You need to get up, fucker!"

I open his door and move to his bed, where I see his phone. He stays asleep, his arm wrapped around his pillow as if he fell asleep cuddling it. I glanced at his phone and unlock it, surprised he doesn't have a passcode.

When I open it, I see that it is immediately opened to the phone calling app, and the only other app opened before that is messaging. Under his outgoing calls are all rings to his ex-girlfriend Bryana. I look up from his phone. When I see a bottle of whiskey in between his pillow and his body and the dry tear stains on his cheeks, I start to put the puzzle pieces together.

I decide to text this Bryana for myself, even though I've never met her once.
