Mother combed back my black hair, making sure every single strand was absolutely perfect.
I watched as her grey eyes stayed fixed on my black hair. Luckily I'd gotten my fathers hazel ones which my brother had always been jealous of. He was like my other half, always there for me as I was for him.
As my mother hummed a soft lullaby I thought of what my best friend, Helvetica would be doing today. Maybe I'd go to her house later on and pay her a visit. We'd been best friends since forever, almost like a sister and sister relationship.
"All done Waverly darling."
Those were the last words she had said to me and the last time I saw my family living because the next time I saw them was their funeral.
