Kara's POV
I sat at one of the picnic tables at the skate park as we waited for the others to arrive. What I was doing here? How did I manage to get myself dragged into this? Honestly I had no clue.
I must be going crazy. Yup, that's it.
"Hey guys, what's up?"
I look up to see a group of girls and guys walk over to us. When I saw their faces I realized that they were the people I saw at the lunch table yesterday.
Max stood up and walked over to them. He looked back at me and motioned me with his hand to come over there.
I slowly got up and walked over.
"Guys this is Kara and she is going to hang with us today." Max explained.
I gave a small wave as well as a friendly smile. They all returned the gesture to me.
"Ok so, this is Amy." He pointed to a short red headed girl that held a skateboard under her arm. She gave me a small wave when she was introduced.
"This is Dana." He pointed to a girl with black hair and she wore a snap back. She gave me a small wave just like Amy did.
"Over here is Nick." Nick was a brown haired guy with a pair of Vans on. He gave me a nod and that was about it.
"And you already know Jace." My eyes went to him. When I looked I saw that his eyes were bright emerald green. They were amazing to look at.
"Do any of you guys happen to have an extra board?"
We broke eye contact when we heard Max's question. I sighed because I knew that now I couldn't look him in the eyes.
"Yeah I stopped by my house and grabbed an extra since I knew yours busted." Jace said as he handed over a board to Max.
I shuffled my feet and stood there awkwardly as I watched everyone go over to the different ramps and half pipes.
Maybe I should learn to skate. Then again I really don't want to fall and make a fool of myself. So I guess I will just sit here and...oh look a pretty bird.
Since I wasn't paying attention to anything around me, I didn't notice that someone had came and sat down beside of me. Whenever the person spoke, I jumped about two feet in the air.
After calming my racing heart down a bit, I turned to see who it was. Once I saw the person, my heart started to frantically beat once more.
Next to me sat Jace. He looked as if he wanted to laugh, but then again he also looked pretty confused. I let out a sigh realizing that I seem to be able to make a fool out of myself without even trying.
"Are you just going to sit here or are you going to come and skate?" Jace asked me nonchalantly.
I bit my lip debating. Do I tell him that I can't skate or do I try and act cool and act like I know what I am doing?
My decision was made and I nodded my head and stood up. Jace handed me his board so I could skate since I obviously didn't own one.
I walked over to a flat straight away and took a deep breath. This couldn't be too hard, right? I kicked my foot back to get some speed and then I was off.
Hey this isn't too hard! I'm actually doing pretty well if I do say so myself. I watched as everything beside of me passed in a blur. I can't believe I'm actually doing-
