Kara's POV
I didn't speak nor move. I couldn't. I just stood there and stared at my older brother who I haven't seen in almost a year.
How was I supposed to react? I mean, I haven't seen him in almost a year and then he just shows up.
"So, I haven't seen my lil sis in who knows how long and I don't even get a hug?" Ethan said bringing me out of my thoughts.
Something switched inside of me and I rushed to him, tackling him in a huge hug. Unlike most brothers and sisters, we are super close.
"I missed you so much! What are you doing here?" I asked him finally.
Last time I checked, he wasn't supposed to be here until Thanksgiving and it was only late September. Well, at least that's what my calendar told me this morning.
Ethan hugged me back and chuckled. "It's fall break this week and I decided to come visit my favorite sister."
"I'm your only sister, idiot!" I said with a laugh as a smacked his arm.
He just simply shrugged and smiled. Then his eyes switched to something behind me and his smile faltered a bit. Huh?
"Why did you bring a boy home? Especially when you thought that it was empty?" My brother asked me is a low voice.
Shoot! I had forgotten that Max was with me.
As much as I love my brother, he can be very over protective when it comes to boys and it irritates me.
I groaned and rubbed my forehead. This should be fun.
"Ethan, he is just a friend and we have to work on our project for English." I told my brother.
He was still giving Max the death glare and Max seems to be very nervous right now. God, I feel so bad right now.
Before my brother could kill Max, I grabbed Max's arm and drug him to the staircase so that we could go work on our project.
"We are going to my room to work on our project ok. You need to calm down."
Before my brother could respond, I was up the stairs and to my room.
My room was just the right size for me. I had my own full bathroom and a huge walk in closet. My room is where I spent most of my time.
I turned to look at Max. He still looked pretty scared, but then again I would too if someone had glared at me like.
"I'm sorry about that. If you couldn't tell already, my brother is very overprotective of me." I told Max.
He just nodded his head as he took a seat.
Lets get this project over with.

Max's POV
I was currently sitting at Kara's house working on our project for English. I was still a bit nervous for two reasons.
The first reason being, Kara's brother looked at me like he wanted to kill me right then and there. It was quite scary.
The second reason, I like Kara. Yes, I said it I like her. I liked her even before she talked to me for the first time.
She is just so different from the other girls in our school. She's different in a good way. She isn't fake and stuck up like the other girls.
To be honest, it really shocked me that she even talked to me. When she did I quickly took the chance and got her to hang out with my friends and I.
