Jace's POV
I was sitting in History class staring out the window. Honestly, I didn't care about history at all. It's boring.
The crackle of the income system overhead stopped my thoughts and made my teacher come to a halt with all of the boring talk.
'Jace Phillips to the principal's office.'
My eyebrows came together in confusion. I wasn't supposed to meet with the principle until 2:30, but it was only one o'clock.
Everyone turned to look at me even the teacher. I scuffed to myself, nosy much? Rolling my eyes I stood up and left the classroom.
The halls were pretty much empty which made since due to fact that class started like ten minutes ago.
I happened to be in the same section as the office which meant that I didn't have to walk across the whole campus.
When I reached the principal's office I walked in not really caring that the secretary was shouting for me to stop and sign in.
I went in and sat down in front of Mr.Longworth. We stared at each other, well I actually glared at him but you get the picture.
Hmm, I guess I should explain why I was glaring at the principal shouldn't I. You see, Bill Longworth happens to be best friends with my father. And since my father sees me as a "disappointment", Bill here tries to get me to become a "good young man." by having these stupid weekly meetings.
"Jace." Bill finally spoke up.
"Bill." I mocked him.
I know that it may seems that I am being really disrespectful and like i'm trying to act like a "bad boy" but I am so tired of being expected to act all prim and proper.
I'm not prim and proper if you couldn't already tell.
"Jace, I told you that you need to be respectful and call me Mr.Longworth." He spoke in a serious tone.
"Yeah ok." I responded back sarcastically. I fought the urge to roll my eyes yet again. I just crossed my arms and leaned back in the chair.
Next to me sat the dusty, faded fake plant. The plant that should be holding a sticky note from a certain mystery girl.
It was killing me not knowing who this girl was. I debated on whether not to pick a certain spot for her to put her sticky note and watch that place to find out who she is. But I decided against it do to the fact that maybe one day this girl will just tell me who she is.
"Mr.Phillips!" Demanded a voice.
I jumped at the sound of the demanding voice. My head snapped up to meet the furious eyes of Bill. I gulped and shrunk down a bit in my seat.
"I will not have you ignore me especially when I am trying to help you. You don't understand that your parents and I are not the bad people here! We want to help you.We want you to have a future." He told me as he calmed down a bit.
No they didn't want to help me. They wanted me to be just like them so when I get older I could run my father huge business. Little did they know, once I graduate from here, I am out of this town.
I just sat there and glared at the desk. Nothing I could say would make them change their minds on me so why waste my breath?
"Now, I have took a look at your grades and I can say that I am quite disappointed. But something that surprised me is that you have an 'A' in art. I know that your are not stupid, you just don't try."
