I wake up to an urgent feeling. I bolt upright and see Laurence, Garroth, and Dante standing by the door, blocking Souls from entering. I stand up and feel something in my hand. I look down to see a red bow in my hand with a... Flaming arrow loaded on it. I feel a pouch on my back, too.
I aim an arrow at the Souls and fire. Garroth spins around and is about to kill me— When he realizes who I am. Laurence turns around briefly from fighting and sees me. "She's up, Dante!" he shouted over the clash of metal. "Sarah, you need to get out of here NOW!" Garroth says. "I can fight," I say, my voice turning singsong again. "No, you HAVE TO LEAVE! The Souls want YOU, now!" he says. "I—-— I'm not leaving you guys." Garroth looks down a minute. "Forgive me..." I am confused for a moment before I see him pull a potion from behind his back—
"GARROTH, WAI—!!" I am cut off by a splash. I look at Garroth as the view slips away...
I appear back in Runnswurth. I feel my legs give out as I think about Garroth, Laurence, and Dante still fighting back there. And it's all my fault. I run to the magics room and find a girl with yellow hair there. "Z-Zoey!" I say. She looks up in surprise. "Yes, dea– Oh, my. Is everything alright?" she says. "N-no! Garroth, Laurence, and D-Dante are trapped in t-the Nether!" I say. "Oh— oh, my!" Zoey says. She shoots her hands through her desk, looking for something.
She stops when she finds a glass bottle with a golden substance in it. "This is enough to get 4 people out. You, once you use it, Garroth, Laurence, and Dante. You drink it to get in, and then smash it on everyone to get out. Alright?" I nod. I run to my room, lock Sophie out, and drink a bit. I instantly feel my body pulled into the dimension. I gradually begin to see Garroth, who is right in front of me, then Laurence, who ran up from the side, and then Dante as he strikes a Soul. Laurence points at me and says something, and they all look at me.
My vision clears and I race forward and grab Laurence and Dante, and then yank Garroth over. "Sarah, I told you to GO! Not come back!" Garroth yelled over the noise. "Just don't move!" I yelled back. I pull out the potion and smash it on the ground. I feel my body floating as my vision goes to black—
I emerge back in Runnswurth. Laurence sizzles behind Dante, and Garroth fades into view on the path ahead of us. I pull everyone into a hug, relieved they're safe. "S-Sarah!!" I hear. Garroth backs away slowly and points to my clothes. I see that I'm now wearing a bright yellow dress that is slowly turning red at the bottom. The red color is slowly traveling up the dress. I look up at the guys. "Run, and get everyone from the village away from here." They try to protest but I insist. "I'm going to kill you all if you don't go!" I say. "You might not. How do you know?" Laurence asks. "I have no idea. But I'm pretty sure it's going to be soon so HURRY!" My voice turns into a booming, rasping voice like the Shadow Souls.
The guys finally run into the village as I run away from it. I see Dante grabbing Sophie from my bedroom window. Good. Good.
I feel a burning sensation in my hands as my dress turns fully red, like they're straining to kill. I see Garroth still in the village, searching for other people who might still be there. I feel my feet walking and I realize: now I'm going to kill him! I try to stop it but my feet don't cooperate. Garroth has his back turned as I approach, silently. I try to stop, but before I know it, I'm pouncing on him, sword in hand.
"SARAH!!!!!!" he screams, trying to break free. My sword is I inches from his back and jerkily moving closer. My hand shakes as I try to stop it. "N-no..... I don't want to be the Shadow Princess," I rasp, still struggling. "Then Shadow Princess no longer," hisses a voice. "Oomba, canna, counta, embaro! Gountous, hinder, levinta, DESPAROSE!!!" the voice shrieks, my hand still moving shakily toward Garroth's back. "Fight for justice, fight for spite. Fight for darkness, fight for light. Princess no more, Princess no doubt. Shadow for life, Shadow throughout." I felt my hand stop as if I had finally controlled my body.
Garroth pulled me off his back and slammed me to the ground, thinking I was still bad. "Never fight right, dear Knight," hissed the voice. "Never fight wrong, dear Vong!" it said again. What is VONG?! "Princess no more, so shalt tell. The tale of a girl called Annabelle."
Garroth had stopped and was listening as well. "Dearest, you see, you're mother was free. To do as she like, to fight the Knights." Garroth adjusted his helm. "Knights and Vongs?" he asked. "Patience, dear Knight, and time will tell. Someday far away from right," it hissed. "I am utterly confused, but continue on, I suppose," he said. "Annabelle Vong, was her name, and throughout the Nether, she was basked in fame!
"No Shadow crossed her path, nor did she care, for she was to airy, like Overworld air. She fought bravely until, one day, she met a young Shadow named McKay.
"McKay was a Soul who new not what pain. Instead anger and jealousy cursed his veins! Not bad enough for Nether properties, he found a life, with a little wife, and happened to have a baby."
"Me." "Yes, my dear, it is true, and here you are, a mix of blood and truth." I stare for a moment before it continues. "Oath and sin devoured the family, you were the one chosen for clarity." What does that MEAN?!
