The familiar scent of vanilla filled my senses as I walked through the door to Lauren’s apartment. A large sigh emitted from her small body as she tossed her jacket and coat on the black leather couch before making her way to the kitchen. I awkwardly stood by the entrance not knowing where to go. After the show ended, Gina had told me to go back to the apartment with Lauren to “stay the night.” I watched as Lauren poured herself a glass of water and made my way towards her. She set the glass of water down and pulled her hair up in a messy bun on the top of her head and rubbed the back of her neck continuously. When she pulled her hand away I noticed something shocking.

“Is that a tattoo on the back of your neck?” I asked more surprised then I should have.

“Yeah what about it?” She responded.

“Uh nothing.. I just… uhm anyway I just came to ask if you were okay.” I told her.

“I’m just frustrated. What’s the media going to think when you walk out of here tomorrow morning? That we’ve been dating what like twelve hours and we already slept together? I guess I just don’t understand Gina’s way of thinking.” She explained to me. “It doesn’t matter though, I’ll grab some blankets and pillows so you can sleep on the couch.” She said walking away. Once again I was left alone, unsure of what to do. I heard feet pad into the kitchen and I whipped my head around.

“Oh, hey Logan! I didn’t expect to see you here.” Camila said.

“Yeah I didn’t expect to be here either.” I said as lightly as possible. She laughed a little, clearly trying to break the awkward tension. I wonder if Lauren told her anything about the contract. Probably since they were so close and they did live together. “So what’re you still doing awake?” I asked glancing towards the clock; it was already two in the morning.

“I don’t know… I couldn’t sleep so I was just writing some music.” She explained.

“You write music?” I asked.

“Yes! Lauren and I do it all the time together. She’s amazing at it. We write a lot of our own music but management usually turns it down because it doesn't fit the standard of 'pop music'.” She said using air quotes.

“I’d love to hear it some time.” I began before Lauren stepped into the room and glanced at Camila.

“Hear what?” She asked curtly.

“Uh the new stereo system we just got put in.” Camila chirped. “Anyway, I’m off to bed see you later guys!” She spoke as she hurried out of the kitchen. What the hell was that? Song writing must be a sensitive subject for Lauren.

“I threw some stuff on the couch; is there anything else you need?” Lauren asked.

“No I should be good.” I said and made my way towards the couch as Lauren left to go to her room.

I awoke groggily and rubbed my eyes, forgetting where I was at first. I looked around the quiet apartment and checked the clock and it was already noon. I pushed myself into a sitting position and got up off of the large leather couch. I wandered around for a couple minutes, unable to find anyone. “Lauren?” I called out. Seconds later she appeared from the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around her. I couldn’t help but rake my eyes up and down her body.

“Stop staring at me.” She snapped.

“Sorry… I just didn’t know where anyone was.” I told her. She nodded in response. Well someone’s in a bad mood.

“Gina texted me and said we have a picnic to go to at the park today but to be completely honest, I don’t feel like going.” She spoke nonchalantly still standing in a towel.

“Okay… so what are we gonna do instead?” I questioned.

“We aren’t going to do anything.” She pointed back and forth at herself and me. “But I am going to be in my room... away from you.” She explained. I rolled my eyes at her hostility.

“So should I leave or stay?” I asked.

“You should probably stay because I told Gina you were sick. Not that I want you here.” She added. I didn’t have a chance to respond since she was already heading into her bedroom closing the door behind her. Wow, so much for building a relationship. I barged into her room, offended at her behavior. She shrieked at my presence but luckily she was fully clothed.

“What the hell! You can’t just walk in on someone like that!” She yelled.

“Sorry I’m just a little confused at you right now.” I shouted louder then I meant to.

She made a disgusted face at me. “ME? You’re the one who was a jerk all those times and then you go and sign that contract.” She said.

“Yeah and I’ve regretted every moment of it so far.” I told her. “You’re the one who practically forced me to go out with you and then had your body guard tackle me into water.” I said, refreshing her memory. “Then in the morning you were all sweet and nice and then when I signed the contract you were back to being a bitch!” I yelled. “Like are you bipolar or something? Why were you nice to me on our date and then a bitch when I signed the contract?” I continued.

“Because it’s all about the chase right?” She hissed. I stormed over towards a pile of sheets sitting on her bedside table, realizing it was the music she wrote and threw them in the air.

“Stop!” She screamed, frantically trying to collect the papers again. I took the mug of coffee she had set down and dumped it over the sheets of paper. “I SAID STOP!” She yelled louder this time. She looked over the ruined sheets of paper one at a time and was mortified. I had a smug expression on my face at her demise. I know it was wrong, but she literally made my blood boil. Her piercing blue eyes stared at me, tears threatening to spill from them, as I felt the contact of her hand on my cheek. The sting was so powerful; I gripped my face in my hand. I felt my mouth fall open at her action and pinned her up against the wall. I took both of her small wrists in one hand and held them above her head, restraining her movements. I felt her squirm beneath my grip and tightened it slightly. I felt her stop and then suddenly press her lips to mine. The kiss was forceful and strong, the emotions spilling out into the kiss. I knew I should pull away, but a part of me kept going. I ran my tongue over her bottom lip as she granted me access deepening the kiss. I released her wrists and she moved them down to my hair, tugging gently. An unplanned moan sounded from me and I felt embarrassed until she moaned back. I grabbed under her thighs and she quickly responded by jumping up. We moved over to her bed, not breaking the intense kiss. What was happening? One minute we were fighting and the next we were making out? I sat down, my back against the headboard as she sat on my lap. She began rocking gently back and forth on top of me, causing me to feel an electricity run through my body. My hands ran up and down her back as she leaned into me more, moving her hips faster.

“What. The. Fuck.” A voice said.

Lauren quickly got off of my lap, the heated electricity immediately dying off from her lack of touch. “Camila oh my God.” Lauren said. “Don’t you knock?” She questioned harshly.

“Yeah I did. I knocked for like five minutes and just opened the door to see this.” She motioned towards us. Lauren and I were both silent, unsure of what to say.

“I was just…we were just… I was… and he threw the music sheets and…” Lauren began, unable to finish her sentence.

“Okay well that was a very logical sentence.” Camila said sarcastically. “Can I please talk to you for a second… in my room?” She said, emphasizing that she wanted to be in private with Lauren. Lauren nodded and scurried of the bed, running to meet Camila in her room. Well, this is going to be awkward.
