Logan’s POV

I woke up groggily, my vision extremely blurred. My head began to pound instantly, causing me to groan in pain. I squinted my eyes and rested my hand on my head, trying to focus merely on the ceiling. The room around my spun for a little until I sat up slowly and looked around. Where the hell was I and what the hell happened last night? Did I drink so much that I was this hung over? I pushed myself off of the bed and walked over near the floor-to-ceiling window. The morning sun was just coming up in the sky and almost the whole city was visible. I looked around at the room I was in. It was giant to say the least. Almost everything was white except the hardwood floors beneath me and the one wall that was entirely glass. I felt a cool breeze and that’s when I realized I was only in my underwear. I walked out of the door and into a spacious apartment space. I looked around hearing quiet humming coming from a distant room. I watched as a small figure danced around the kitchen and the smell of fresh chocolate chip pancakes filled the air. I noticed the dark hair immediately and the memories of last night came flooding back to me. I hadn’t been drinking; Lauren’s bodyguard beat the shit out of me right after our date.

“Good morning sunshine!” She chimed. She pecked me on the cheek and set the food down on the large glass table.

“Uhm. Hi.” I said quietly. “Where are my clothes?” I asked.

“Oh. I threw them in the laundry because they were soaked and muddy.” She said smiling. I felt her electric eyes looking me up and down, making me self-conscious do to the fact that I was only in my underwear.

“Oh uh thanks?” I answered as more of a question. “Can you call me a cab or something?” I asked nervously. Her smile faded a little after my question.

“Actually…no. My manager is stopping by to have a little chat with us.” She said. A chat? What was that supposed to mean? “Uh please, sit down.” She said, breaking the silence. She came closer to me and ushered me into a sit at the table. Almost instantly there was a faint knock at the door. I watched her tight little body make it’s way to the door. A short, stocky woman with blond hair came in. I heard faint whispers and then silence before the woman waltzed passed Lauren and towards the dining room.

“Good morning.” She said. “I’m Gina. Fifth Harmony’s manager; you must be Logan.” She continued, sticking her hand out to me.

“Yeah that’s me.” I answered simply. I watched as Lauren made her way back over to us. Gina sat down in the seat next to me and Lauren sat quietly behind her. It was the first time I’d ever seen Lauren be so quiet, even though I hadn’t really known her for that long, I already knew the girl could talk for hours. Gina sprawled out several documents in front of her and made a couple odd faces at them before speaking again.

“You see Logan, you may be wondering why I am here today and I am going to explain why. I do not want you to feel obligated to follow through with any of the things I am going to propose to you, but just remember you will be helping out a friend.” She stated. A friend? I just met this woman and she thinks we are friends? I must have been raising my eyebrows because she read my mind. “And by friend I mean Lauren.” She added. I snickered a little at that comment. Lauren and me? Friends? Please. I couldn’t stand to be within five feet of the girl without wanting to punch myself. “Anyway, as you know Lauren has a reputation for being quiet the… how do I put this nicely… slut.” She said. Lauren gasped at her comment and I laughed, amused at how blatantly rude Gina was. She glanced at Lauren and mumbled, “Well we both know it’s true. But that’s beside the point. I have a special deal to offer upon you. You may be a little flabbergasted and appalled, but it’s for the best that I offer it.” She said. I motioned for her to continue as I shoved more pancakes down my throat. I had to say, Lauren was an excellent cook. “I was hoping that you could be Lauren’s boyfriend.” She added. I nearly chocked on my food at the statement.

“What?” I said, my mouth full of food.

“Now listen closely. You wouldn’t REALLY be dating. It would just be for a few months and it would help Lauren loose her reputation. At the end of every month management will give you a paycheck of around $3000. You just have to sign a couple of things and that’s it. You only have to be affectionate in front of the media.” She said. “I’ll give you some time to think, but I do need to know in about the next five minutes.” She added I thought it over for a few minutes. As much as I hated Lauren, could it really be that bad? I’d get paid a large amount just to kiss a girl. And if I didn’t take up the offer, someone else would and I could use the money now more then ever. I really needed to get out of my parents’ house and with the money I’d be making I could do it in two months. I nodded my head in agreement.

“I’ll do it.” I said.

“You will?” Gina asked, shocked that I had agreed.

“Yeah. Where do I sign?” I asked.

“Right here and here.” She answered, pointing out the lines for me to sign. “You’ll be dating for about ten months and we’ll see what the media is saying and take it from there.” She said. “Thank you so much Logan, it’s been a pleasure.” She said, shaking my hand one last time. “Well I must get going, so I’ll let you two be!” She walked herself out, taking the documents with her and leaving Lauren and I alone. I glanced over at Lauren who had her head in her hands and was staring down at the table. I watched as she got up and pushed in her chair and nearly ran to her bedroom closing the door behind her. Well this should be interesting.
