The next day, you walked into the kitchen to find Leon and Cloud sitting at the table with mugs. They greeted you as you sat down.

"Morning, [Name]. Sleep well?" Leon asked.

You nodded. "Yeah, but now I'm ready to start training."

Cloud smirked. "Good." He sounded impressed.

"But first," you said. "Breakfast."

"Uh, we don't really eat breakfast here..." Leon said.

"Well that's not very healthy..."

Cloud shrugged. "We don't really cook that often. No time in all honesty."

"And we can't cook that well."

"...How do you two even survive?" You asked, getting up and going to the fridge. You opened it and blinked. "There's nothing in here but beers!"

They both shrugged.

You facepalmed and shook your head.  "Well I'm starving, and breakfast would do us all good, okay?"

"Okay, maybe not," you yelled over the beeping smoke alarm as Cloud was opening the door and windows and Leon was putting out the fire.

Eventually, Leon got so fed up with the smoke alarm he knocked it off the wall and ripped the batteries out. Cloud was using his sword to wave the smoke out of room as you dumped the burnt bacon into the trash.

"So... Cereal then?" You suggested sheepishly.

"You know, you sounded a lot more confident this morning..." Leon said, sitting down and wiping his brow.

"No time for cereal, we have to meet everyone else at Merlin's to begin your training," Cloud said.

You held your growling stomach and looked at them. "Okay..."

Cloud laughed and pat you on the head, "We can grab a snack on the way there."

You smiled up at him weakly and followed him out the door. "Sorry about the kitchen..."

Leon smirked and let you pass before following you out and locking the door. "It's alright, nothing worse than we would have done."

"Why do you think we don't cook now?" Cloud led the way to a small stand. He bought a few granola bars and tossed you and Leon one.

Your face lit up as you ripped it open and shoved half of it into your mouth. You sighed happily and looked at Cloud grinning at you. "Whah?" You said, your mouth full.

"Nothing," he said shaking his head.

You finished the other half and smiled—until your stomach started growling again. You sighed.

"Here." Leon offered you his granola bar.

"Thanks Leon, but that's your breakfast! I couldn't—" your stomach growled again.

He put the bar in your hand. "Your stomach could. Besides, I don't usually eat breakfast anyway so it's not a big deal." He half-smiled at you and pat your head like Cloud had earlier, walking ahead and leading the way towards Merlin's.
