6:00 am. I'm all done and set to go. I gathered all the folders on the table and I need to leave now before the traffic hits. I got to the office at 7:00. Ivy is already on her desk. I passed by in front of her to greet her a good morning. Something is not right. She's too serious and too quiet.
"Iv---" I didn't get a chance to say what I want to say, she handed me three folders and turned away to face whatever that is she's trying to pretend to be busy with.
I left her and got in to my office. I laid the folders she gave on top of my desk and pull the folders I had to set it on the right corner of the desk. Ivy came in and took the folders. Still quiet. What the heck is going on? Why is she so quiet?
"Ivy?" I called on the intercom.
"Yes?" she answered quietly and so serious.
"Come in, Please." I said pretending to be serious. She didn't say anything after that. I heard a foot step. I looked up and there she is, standing in front of me.
"Please close the door and sit down." She turned and closes the door. I waited for her to settle down on the chair that was in front of my desk.
"What's wrong, Ivy?" I asked without looking at her. I waited for a good minute. I look up.
"Alden, what do you know about Tony's ex girlfriend?" I was dumbfounded with her straightforward question. I was a little confused but I don't have any intentions of lying about her.
"What do you want to know about her?" I simply ask her.
"I heard him on the phone early in the morning, he was talking to someone." She said in a controlled emption.
"What did he say?" I asked.
"He said 'Hi. How are you doing?' I know there's nothing much to go on with that, but the way he said it, it was so loving and caring. It was full of passion." Ivy closed her eyes tight.
"The only girlfriend he had before you was that girl from our university. I've never meet the girl. All I know is that they were so in love. He always goes with her and her family on outings or vacations. He was like a family to them already. I don't know what happen after that. All I know is that Tony fell out of love with her when he met you." There's not much to go with the ex-girlfriend story.
"What?! Was he still with her when we got together?" She seemed so confused. You can see it in her face.
"That I don't know. I was going through my own heartache that time. I know she was a freshman when they met and we were graduating at that time and I think they continue dating after graduation and I don't know what happen after. Two years later, he got married to you. You got married to him." Trying to think what really took place that time. I don't know the girl. Never met her. Never seen her.
"We met at a graduation party for my cousin Sam. It's the same year as Tony's. A year later I graduated and a year after that we got married. But why do I have this nagging feeling that he is talking to her again? That somehow they are communicating." She narrated.
"Ivy, all I've heard from Sam was, the break up was so bad that Sam's girlfriend Patty called it quits with Sam because I think the girl was so depressed... I don't know what the connections are but that's all I know." Sam her cousin is our friend since... Oh God knows how long.
