What are you gonna do, Alden? Are you going to tell her? Or are you going to tell her? You have to choose. A lot of things are happening in his head. These are complicating the situations more. Will he? Will he choose to tell her? Will he choose to be known now or surprise her later. What to do?"Nay, would it be okay if I just let it happen?" He asked, feeling defeated as always.
"Let it happen? What do you mean by let it happen?" Brows furrowed, Ann asked.
"Just let it happen, you know, Maine discovering about me on her own. Her figuring out Alden Reyes and Alden Richards are one and the same. I also know that this may not turn out the way it supposed to be but the opposite of it. I just don't want it to backfire and blow in our faces." He explained. Nikko was nodding his head.
"Nay, don't you think she won't feel betrayed when she finds out that we all knew but we didn't even bother to tell her? Nay, why don't we just let Alden handle this thing on his own. He knows Maine in a way we don't, remember, they're together for two years. There are things we didn't know that only Alden and Maine knew." Nikko sound so worried and so as Alden. Alden looked over Nikko's mom's shoulder. Seeing Maine lying there so peaceful, pale, all skin and bones, amde him so worried that he made a final decision. He walked over to Maine, gave her a hug, and kissed her lips. He turns to Ann and hugged her and shook Nikko's hand.
"It ends here. Maine deserves to be happy. I can't stand to be away from her any longer, and I do not want to see her from a distance. It's long overdue, I can't wait anymore." Alden said with a smile. "Screw the surprise!" He is hopeful and left the two people to get closer to Maine.
He sat on the chair next to Maine's bed, he'll wait 'til she wakes up. Whatever happens, he'll take it. He knew somehow in his heart that Maine will be delighted to see him, but somehow the other part of him saying that he is in for a hell of a ride. He has this sinking feeling at the pit of his stomach that he will be the latter but at the same time he is excited.
His world now is different from what it used to be. He used to wake up in the morning with the aim of only one thing, to make sure all the documents are drawn, signed and sent. All meetings and conferences are attended, squared out and taken care off. Transactions are kept, money are invested wisely and all the clients are satisfied. That was his life. He still does but it has a little color and flavor to it now, and that flavor and color is Maine.
He maybe thinking too much into the matter but this whole waiting game is giving him so much headache, stress, worse than drawing contracts to the most difficult client of FGC. Thinking of the situatione is making his eyelids heavy, but he doesn't want to fall asleep. He wants to be the first person to be seen by her. He wants Maine to see him smiling when she wakes up. Sounds gay but it doesn't matter, he will wait for her, he will wait.
His world is lying down in front of him and there is no amount of sleepless days and nights to make him give in to tiredness. He held her hand and lean his chin on the bed waiting for her to wake up. The world looks and feels so different, somehow it is wider and brighternow than when she left. Everything turned gray and... black.
He fell asleep.
"TAY, I already agreed with that arrange marriage crap of yours." She yelled across the room.
"Maisie Daine, I already gave in with what you wanted to do. Now, it's time you give in." Her dad responded.
"Tay, what do you want me to do? I'm already marrying the son of your business partner, what else you want from me?" She asked, feeling frustrated.
"Maisie, all I'm saying is that, after the wedding you are moving in with him. You two will live together as husband and wife, that's all." He said trying to calm himself down.
