43: Someday

JING came out to see who was out in the lobby, the voice sounds familiar. She only saw the back of the man with Maine. She was left with an unsettling feeling at the pit of her stomach.

"Joyce!" She called out to her without taking away her sight from the two, she doesn't know who Maine walked out of the shop.

"Yes, Ms. J?" Joyce responded nonchalantly. No expression on her voice. Nothing.

"Who was that?" She asked. Joyce furrowed her brows at her not understanding the question she's asking her.

"Who's who?" She repeated.

"What do you mean who's who? That! That's who! Who is that!" Pointing at the two that just left.

"You mean Ms. M and Mr. Reich? What about them?" She asked. She's not really understanding what Jing was asking.

"Mr. Reich??" She just raised her hand up as a sign of surrendering. "Whatever."

Jing walked back into the office. And in a few minutes she left and got into her car and left. She's going to follow them. She doesn't know where to put herself. She's confused. And who the hell is Mr. Reich. She shook her head as if she's trying to shake off what's in her mind. She called Patty.

"Hello." Said the voice on the other side.

"Pat, do you know a Mr. Reich?" She asked her.

"No, I don't. Why?" She asked, her voice gave a hint of curiosity. Jing got what it meant.

"Maine, is dating a guy name Mr. Reich. He came and picked her up not too long ago. Does this meant that Alden is history now?" She asked with a hint of pain on her voice.

"Oh, no! Where's Alden by the way? It's been months almost a year that we didn't see him. Do you know where could he be?' She asked.

"No, not really." Jing said frustratedly.

"What?! You're his sister-in-law, you should know where he is!" Pat struck a point but ignored it.

"What's the connection? Just because I'm engaged to his brother I should know where he is all the time?" She said irritated by what is going on.

"No. Seriously?! You don't have any idea where Alden could be?" Patty asked.

"No. I really don't. I wish I did. When he left after Maine got out of the hospital, his dad sent him to their office in Canada and then to New York." Patty cuts her off.

"Wait! You said New York? When?" Patty's voice echoed through her ears.

"I don't know. I don't remember I lost track of everything trying to help out Tita Ann with Tito Ed and Maine's situation. You know what happen, right?" She said trying to remember when was he in New York.

"Well, Sam said he's coming home. He called me last night to let me know that Alden called out of the blue and announce his homecoming." Jing made a mental note of it.

"Did he tell you where he's coming from? Wait. hold on. I'll put you on speaker. I'm driving right now." She said and a quick silence then a short beep, letting her know that the phone is handsfree activated now.

"Hello? Are you still there?" Almost yelling over the phone.

"Yes, Patty, I'm still here and stop yelling." Jokingly yelled back.

"Sam didn't say when I ask him coz, Alden didn't say anything either when he asked him. He just said soon." This puzzles her more.
