Chapter 43
Sarah
I woke up in Justin's arms, feeling the small sunlight through the trees. I could hear the cheeps of birds all around us. This moment couldn't be better.
I had my favourite man beside me, my favourite animal above me, at the favourite time of my life. For once I didn't feel like hiding. I didn't feel like running. I just felt like staying. At least for the moment.
Justin groaned as he woke.
"What time is it?" he asked, his eyes barely opened.
"I don't know, I don't have a watch," I told him.
He chuckled a little, rubbing his eyes. He blinked a little but soon his eyes adjusted to the light.
"How are you feeling?" He asked.
I shrugged feeling bad about last night. It really was supposed to be a celebration, not a crying fest.
"I'm fine," I admitted, actually meaning it, "I just, I needed, I guess I just needed one night."
"You can have more than one night, Snow."
I smiled and turned my body so that I faced me.
"Do you mean that?" I asked.
He nodded, "Yeah I mean, if they all end like this then –."
I playfully hit him, and buried myself under the blanket as he laughed.
"Come on," he groaned joining me under the blanket.
I felt his lips on mine, as he shift my body underneath him. Shivers went up and down my spine as his hands did the same. I found myself groaning sending him hot and making him more excited.
"What do you have planned today?" he groaned against my neck.
It was so hard to think with his hands cupping the back of my thighs.
"Ahh, I think I might go into Hackney."
He immediately stopped kissing my neck, frowning at me, "What?"
"Well, there still might be some people there. I need to make sure that they are okay. I mean after Billy," I shook the thought away, "I just need to know that everyone's safe."
He smile was soft and sad as he remembered Billy.
"Well, I'll come with you," he said.
"No, you stay here and do what you need to do," I told him.
He looked disappointed but he nodded accepting it. There was something else in his eyes. Fear? I couldn't quite point my finger on it. I decided to ignore it.
Cupping his cheek, I brought his lips to mine. I loved the feel of his lip between mine. It was a connection I couldn't explain.
"I love you," he told me.
I smiled, feeling my heart warm at his words.
"I love you too."
