(Tiffany's view)
It's been a week. He didn't call me or showed up these days. I'm wondering if he's doing fine... It's 8:00 p.m now. I decide to go to the market to buy some fruits and... dinner, maybe.
The place I live is on West Loop. An apartment building located in Desplaines Street. Crossing Jefferson Street and Clinton Street, I finally reach the Chicago French Market. There are many kinds of fruits and vegetables here, that's why this is the best place for student like me. I used to food shopping here with Teresa too.
When I wander around, I find something weird. There is a man following me to everywhere I go.
I pretend that I forgot something, and go back to the shelf in the next corridor. He turns back too. I better go now.Keep acting like I don't know what's happening, I go to the sales counter. I tell the clerk that there is a stranger stalking me.
"Ok, I got it. I will stop him if he follows you again. Just leave here as soon as possible." The clerk assure me.
"Thank you!" I pay off my bill and walk to the outside.
As walking on the street, I keep my alert, hoping he dosen't follow me this time. I haven't seen his sign for now. However, there is another stranger showing up in front of me. He walks toward me and he looks threatening. I turn around and run away.
Who is he? Why are they targeting me?
And then, there are two other men show up, blocking my way. At this point, I realize that the street I'm standing now is empty. It's not good... What shoul I do now?
Suddenly, one of them grabs my hand heavily, "Don't run!"
"Let go off me! What are you do..." I'm not finish my words, they drag me to a dark alley.
"We have something to ask you. If you can answer all the questions, we'll let you go."
I say nothing.
"Ok, let's get started. Did you know the man who we called the Vigilante?"
I'm shocked. But keep my face calm.
"We have watched over you two, it seems like you two are close. How about his real name? Did he tell you about it?" He asks me.
But I stay silence. I'll not let them get what they want.
"How about this?" He takes out a knife and points at me.
".......!!" I step back and try to run.
He pulls me hard and yells "You are NOT going anywhere!"
"....Help!!!" I cry out for help loudly.
Suddenly, a man stands in the darkness with his eyes glittering in green lights. It's him!
Bang!
The sound of the gunshot is deep. The hand releases immediately.
"Ahhh!!!!!!! Who is this!!?" The bad guy screams.
Without a word, Aiden rushes to the guys and fights with them. He did't shoot their head or kill them, he just takes them down. I stay away from them, watching he fight. Within 2 minutes, three men all down.
Aiden walks to me, "Are you alright?"
"Y... yes, I'm fine now. Thank you..." I reply.
He sends me home. We haven't talk to each other until getting home. We stop in front of the door. It looks like something is troubling him, I may say it out first.
"Hey... are you Ok? You don't look well." I ask him.
"I was just thinking... It's me who make you involved in such this accident."
"What happen to you? Are you in trouble?"
"...I can't tell you. Or I'll bring more troubles to you." He says and turns around.
We keep silence for a while. And then he says something makes my heartbeat skip once.
"..... You must forget about me."
