19. I understand

(Tiffany's view)

I'm still home.
And now I don't know what should I do. Aiden just called me few hours ago, and he told me that Nicky's in danger. What did he mean? What about Jacks?
I walk around at living room, and can't stop looking outside through the window.
"No, I can't stay here and do nothing! I gotta go out and find them." I pick up my purse, and rush to the door.
Suddenly, the door opens and a man runs to the porch. I scream out with great shock.
"Hey, relax. It's me." Aiden says with the mask on his face. He takes out his phone and points at the door, "You should know, the electronic lock's useless to me." At the same time, the door locks up.

"But... How did you do that!?" I'm still in shock about the situation few seconds ago. He takes off the mask and looks straight to me. " Oh... Yeah. You are the Vigilante." I say.

I lead him to the living room and bring him a glass of water. He sits on the sofa and sighs. There must be something bothering him, he looks tired and depressed. I sit next to him and ask, "Are you alright? What happened to Nicky? And how about Jacks? Are they in trouble?"

Aiden drinks a sip of water and says, "Jacks is safe now. I just bring him to his psychological doctor, Yolanda..." He takes out his phone and shows the screen to me, "This is Yolanda's phone number. I want you to keep it." At this time, his tone of voice becomes gentler, "Could you please... take care of Jacks some times for me? I mean, Jacks likes you more than me. He would be glad that he has such a nice person being with him."

Of course! Of course! I say it in my mind out loud. "No problem, I will! Jacks is a good boy, and I'll go visit him when I'm free." I promise him and keep ask, "How's Nicky? Is she safe yet?"

I can see the sorrow in his eyes. "She... she was kidnapped by Damien's. Right in the morning. And I couldn't save her in time..." He frowns and says, "If he dares to harm her, I'll not let him get away from it easily."

"You will." I say, "I believe you will bring her back soon. But now..." I stand up to walk close to him, and put my hand on his shoulder, "Now you need to do, is calm down and think. Think about what to do next. And the most important thing is, don't blame yourself too much."

He looks up to me and I keep saying, "You saved Jacks right? That means he needs you, Aiden. And now your sister needs you, too. So you have to stand up for them. That is what matters."

Aiden stays silence for a while, but his eyes still on me. Few minutes later, he finally speaks, "Thank you." He gives me a happy smile and puts his hand on mine. I'm glad that I can do something worth, and I want to let him know that I will always be here for them.

(It's 10:30 now)

Aiden told me what happened this morning, and all the things about Damien and himself. He got a call from Damien, who had some arguments with Aiden before. Damien wants Aiden to work with him again, but he was refused. Therefore, he came up with such bad ideas as kidnapping... How crazy he is.

"I got a clue from Jacks when I'm with him." Aiden's using his phone and says, "Racine. That's the word I got. And I just search this word in the internet... The most suspicious result is a shipyard company."

I use my phone to do some search, too. And I got something useful. "The owner of the shipyard is Racine Robert. He was on the News few months ago. According to the article, he didn't do his job well in the finance of company, and one of his employee wanted to sue him for it. On the day before the court, the employee disappeared bizarrely. I think it's not simple, Aiden. And I can be sure that he's the guy you are looking for." But I still have some questions... "What does Racine have to do with Damien?"

"He sent Racine's men to kidnap Nicky. Maybe they have had a cooperation before... But it doesn't matter. I just want them to know they had make a big mistake."

(it's 13:00)

After lunch, Aiden drives me to Brandon port, where Racine's shipyard is. On the way there, he keeps asking me the same question, "Are you sure that you want to go with me? You know, it's dangerous."
And I give him the same answer, "Yeah I know, of course! Everytime you ask me to stay away from something, I just can't do nothing and watch you fight alone."

It's real. I want to help him, even if without any reason. I've seen a lot of people fighting for their families, friends, or love. But not like this. Aiden always be there no matter when his sister and nephew need him. He's never cared about himself.

Aiden didn't reply me, but I can see a slight smile on his face. 

"Hey, you told me that you have a sister right? How is she doing?" He asks me.

"Well, I got a letter from her two days ago. She said Nepal is a great place to travel. The people there are nice and passionate. Although there's something crazy happened when she arrive at a capital called Kyrat*. " I say.

"Kyrat? I heard this name on the News yesterday. It said there is a civil war involving local Royal Army, controlled by tyrannical king, and a rebel movement called the Golden Path. Is she safe there?"

"I'm worried about that, too. But she assured me that she will be fine because there is someone who can protect her. She called him Ajay. The only thing I can do now is keep in touch with her, and trust Ajay."

"Don't worry, I think she can protect herself well 'cause she's your sister." He says.
I smile to him happily. "Haha, thanks!"

45 minutes later, we arrive at the destination and park the car in the bushes nearby. Aiden points at the front and says, "That's the shipyard, and I believe Racine's in there somewhere." He unfastens the seat belt and turns to me, "Tiffany, I need you to stay in the car now. This situation is not..."

"I know, I'll stay here and wait for you. I can take care of myself, you don't need to worry about me. But if you need any help... You know what to do right?" I understand. And I don't want to burden him this time. It's too risky for me, for him too.

He looks at me for a while, and says "Take care."

After getting off the car, he disappears behind the wall.
