11. Track Down

(Aiden's view)

Tiffany is a good girl.
Although she dosen't know me a lot, she always try to help me in any way.
I think I should be nicer to her...

Anyway, I have to deal with an important thing that I forgot to do.
The disturbing phone call to Nicky.
I need to find out who made this phone call to make my family panic.

At this time, my phone rings.
"Hello? You said you need an access to ctOS? Then you've got to meet me on the Magnificent Mile. And don't forget to bring your cellphone." A woman says.
This woman named Clara, she is my 'co-worker'. We help each other in hacking.
When I need something difficult to get from ctOS, she always have the key to find out.
Then I could get my stuff, she could get what she need, too.
We are not real friend, but a business partner.

(30 minutes later)

I got the ctOS access.
Now I need to go to the ctOS Executive Office to exploit the erea limits to authority.

I drive to a underground parking lot, and sneak in through the front door.
There are many security guards, but I can use the security camera to find out the access code.

I get the code from a main guard on the third floor-- useing some cameras.
This code can help me hack in the host computer, and upload virus to the executive's laptop.

Autority is permited.

I can finally trace the phone call signal, now it's time to catch the mouse.
The source of signal is from a small apartment near here.
I rush out the parking lot and drive to the apartment.

It's raining heavily now, the sky is deeply dark.
I arrive at the location and find nothing. The room is messy, the people here was gone.
I search all the room, and find something left-- a video.

The man in the video is Damien Brenks. We worked together for a long time, but we haven't contacted each other since 'that thing'.

He also left a message to me:
You better run.

I rush out the room.
And then I hear some people coming here and it seems that they want to take me down.
Shit! I fall into his trap!
I take out the gun and start to fight back.

(15 minutes later)

They're all taken down. But I got shot.
Although they didn't hit crucial, it's really hurt and bleeding now...
Damien wants to meet me at the park. I want to ask him some questions, too.
So I drive to the park and find him.

My phone rings... It's Tiffany.
"Hi, are you free now? How about go out for dinner? I think that will make your mood better." She asks me.
"Sorry, not this time. I'm busy now... I'll call you back ok?" I reply.
"Hey... Are you alright? You sounds gasping. Where are you?" She says nervously.
"I'm heading to the park. I'm fine, don't worry. Wait for me I'll call back." I say to her and hang up the phone.

He's stading by the Cloud Gate.

"You better tell me what I want to know." I say to him first because I don't want to waste my time on him.
"Easy man, you are grim as you used to be. I just want my partner back!" Damien says.
"It is no use Damien, tell me why I am here." I almost loose my patience.
"Let's work together like before. It will worth it!" He doesn't give up asking me.
"A six year old girl, my niece, died because you went too far." I say angrily.
"Oh, you think that was my fault? It would not happen if you just stood by me!" He yells me loudly.

One year ago, Damien and I robbed the hotel named Merlaut. I was in the lobby and tried to hack in the bank system. Damien helped me getting through it.
But I thought that it's enough. I was fed up with rubbing. So I was penetrated voluntarily at that time.
And Damien got punished, too.
But after that, my niece died...

"You got nothing to me." I turn around and leave.

He walks in front of me and says, "There was another hacker. And I know how to find him."
"But you can't do it on your own. You need me. Your big problem is-- I don't need you." I keep walking away.
"Don't go! This may be a lead!" He yells.
"Thanks for the tip." I say to him.

He looks angry after I leave him alone. I don't need to help him like before because I don't want to trust him anymore.

My wound does't stop bleeding... And I feel a little dazed right now.
It looks not really good... I need to get.. back...

When I nearly faint on the floor, a girl runs to me and helps me up to the bench. It's Tiffany...

"Aiden!? You're bleeding!! What happend? I'll send you to the hospital !" She asks me with wiping my face dry.
"Not the hospital... I'm.... fine..." I can't remember what's going on in next moment.
