20. Breakable Things

It's 13:50 now.

I get off the car and rush to the side door of the company. I look around and evaluate the survey route. Someone here was hired by Damien. Start with the owner, Robert Racine.
And just work your way down. Stay cool, and keep your head, Aiden.

This shipyard is located in the suburb. There is no home nearby, only some factories and overgrown open spaces. Outside the wall are plenty of empty wooden boxes which help me a lot because I can use them to cover me when sneaking. I squat low and walk close to the iron gate. There's a signboard on the wall says 'DO NOT ENTER'. That would be the way I'll get in.

I use my phone to unlock the gate, and sneak in the factory. In order not to cause disturbance, I hack in the camera monitor and watch around.
What surprises me is, the guards here are much less than I thought.
Through the camera, I can see two armed soldiers patrol near the stairs. No matter what they're protect, it must be very important to them. I'd start investigating there first.

One of the soldier walks around the bottom of the stairs, and the other one is on the second floor. I watch over the first carefully and find him climbing to half of stairs and then walking down, over and over again... I decide to take action at the same time when he turns around to climb. I take out my muffling pistol and hide behind a wooden box.

Wait for it, wait for it... Now!

I stand up, aim at the target, and shoot immediately. The bullet hits on the soldier's helmet and he turns around with great shock. As he sees me, he knows that he's finished. It's too late.

I shoot again. The bullet passes through the goggles and hits right on his eyebrows. He's a dead man now. He's about to fall so I rush to catch him. If he fall down to the ground, it may cause huge sound. That was so close...

I hide the body beside the boxes and keep moving on. Going upstairs, I hack in the camera again to see the other soldier on the second floor. He's walking from door to door. I search each of the door plates, and find a office room. I think that's the room I'm looking for, Racine must be in there. The office door is locked, but I can get it easily from the soldier. Through the camera, I hack in his phone and get the access of the office.

The soldier walks through the last door, and turns into the corner to patrol another side of the aisle. I use this gap to sneak to the office, close the door, and view the whole office-- no one is here.

Do I come in the wrong room? But why? This is the only office door with electronic lock. How could I get wrong?

The office room is messy. There are pen container lying on the desk, and paper scattering on the floor. It looks like someone had come here and find something because the drawers had all been opened.

Shit. Did he leave his company and run away? That's not good. I must keep searching.

I find a computer server and hack in. It leads me to the monitor camera in garage. There is a guy standing beside a car and talking on the phone. I hack his phone to wire-taping.

"... Are you double- crossing me? I got you the Pearce woman." The guy says.

"The woman, yes, I told you not to go for the kid. Did you think I'd actually pay you more? Now you've complicated things." The man in the call is Damien! I've known that! And this guy must be Robert Racine.

"Who's this guy after me? Did you send him?"

Damien sneers a bit and replies, "I didn't send him. But I probably should have warned you about Aiden."
