I should have known miracles didn't exist in my life. I shouldn't have let my guard down. With my parents closing up on me as backed up towards me window, I found myself panicking.
"Here we are again," my mom said, grinning maliciously. "Back to where I should have ripped your ugly black hair off of your head for disobeying me."
"You should have dear," my dad said, slurring his words.
My eyes were wide and my hands were shaking. I literally woke up an hour ago and after brushing my teeth, my parents suddenly popped into my room. Their eyes were filled with hatred as they began to scream at me and before I knew it, I was being backed up against the window.
My back soon hit the window and I found myself trembling in fear. I didn't know what to do as their hands reached out for me. I didn't know how to stop them.
"I'm sorry," I said, almost pleadingly. "I will never do it again. I will never disobey you guys."
I hated myself for begging. This wasn't something I would ever do, but I was desperate. Desperate when they now stood a meter away from me.
"It's too late now to say sorry," my dad snapped. "The damage has been done."
My mom reached out for me and I flinched. With wild eyes, I stared at her.
"Mom, please don't do this," I begged, desperate. "Please don't hurt me."
To my surprise, my mom froze. Her eyes suddenly widened and staring at me, she looked surprised. She seemed to realize something as she brought her hands back.
My dad however, began to reach out. Not trusting his disgusting drunk hands, I decided to act fast. Unlatching my window, I opened it and quickly slid out of it. Now on the roof of my house, I cautiously went down it, fear pumping through me.
There was a tree near the edge so I slid my way down there carefully, trying to stay as balanced as possible. The sun was bright and it was hard to see, but thinking of all of the times Jai came to my room, I knew I could do this. I knew I could get away from them.
Reaching the old tree, I grabbed a branch and swung myself onto it. Then hanging myself onto it, I dropped down to the next tree branch. I kept doing that until I neared the ground that was my front porch.
When I was only a few meters away, I dropped myself from the tree. I landed on my feet and with adrenaline pumping through me, I began to sprint away from them. I heard my dad shouting my name, but I kept running. I didn't want to be anywhere near them. Not when I knew they wanted to hurt me.
As I sprinted, I was surprised to know I had a destination in mind. After getting help from Jai the last time, I knew I should see him. He was the only one who could calm me down.
I was running and even though I wasn't the greatest runner, I ran past many blocks of houses. Fear really gave you energy, so to my surprise, I neared Jai's house within ten minutes. I wasn't sure about how he would feel about me showing up uninvited, but I had to be selfish. With my heart pounding and my parents roars at the back of my mind, I needed him.
Spotting his house on the corner of the street, I ran up to it. I felt a bit creepy as I reached his lawn, knowing I only knew where he lived because he once stopped at his house to grab his phone. He never told me where he lived, yet I knew it by heart.
Looking up at the talk dark house, I looked for where Jai's bedroom would be. All of the lights were off except one, so I just assumed that was his bedroom. I hoped it was as I noticed a tree was conveniently next to it.
