Chapter 2: Butterflies Flying High

  You know it was a good night when you wake up in the arms of your best friend. But when his phone rang and he took it outside on the balcony it kinda killed it.   I walked into the Juliet bakery.
"Morning mama." I said.
"Morning B." I walked behind the counter. Mama ran this show. She was everyone and anyone's mom. Since my mom walked out on us, she's kinda my mom in a way.
"Morning Sarah."
"Oh hey, I got the bread in the oven. Help me ice?"
"Sure." I put my apron on.
"So what did you do last night?" I asked her.
"Neil and I went surfing, it was really nice."
"Oh really? Emit and I were at the pier."
"We're you guys eating snow cones? I think I saw you."
"Yeah. Talking about our dream guy."
"Emit and his dreams." She rolled his eyes.
"I know." We laughed.
"Emit's here." Mama said. I walked to the register.
"What can I get you?" I asked.
"You are so fake."
"Shut up." His smile vanished.
"I need to talk to you."
"Why? Is everything ok?"
"Bitter sweet."
"Mama can I talk with Emit for a minute?"
"Of course." Emit and I walked outside.
"What's going on?" I asked.
"That phone call..."
"Yeah?"
"Was a record company. They want to sign me."
"Emit that's, that's amazing."
"I know."
"where?"
"L.A." I stopped smiling.
"Why not here, in Virginia beach?"
"This is a huge record company, same people who signed Ariana Grande, Drake, Justin Bieber! This is my chance."
"I though you were already signed in Virginia beach."
"I am but they aren't big. This is big!"
"I don't know emit." I folded my arms.
"What do you mean? Aren't you happy for me?"
"I am but you're leaving me." He put his hand on my cheek.
"I'm never leaving you, B."
"Sure looks like it."
"Come with me."
"What about the bakery?"
"Mama can take care of it."
"I can't leave mama. You know I can't do that."
"I already took the deal." He whispered. I tear fell down my cheek and touched his hand.
"I have to work." I sniffled and walked back inside.
"What's wrong?" Sarah asked.
"He's leaving." He pulled me into a hug and rubbed my back.
"Emit and Brin will always be Emit and Brin.
No in's no outs's."

I stayed late at the bakery.
"Why don't you go home?"
"Mama, I'm almost done."
"Spend the time you have left with him with him."

"I love you too." I kissed her cheek and left her with the store.

I walked into the lobby.
"Where have you been?" Emit was on the lobby couch.
"We have been worried sick." The annoying Apartment kid says.
"Shut up Gorge." Emit says.
"I worked late at the bakery what do you think?"
"Um salty much?" Jake sat next to emit with the newspaper over his face.
"You know why I'm not happy."
"Why can't you be happy for me?"
"I'm beyond happy for you, it's he part were you leave that hurts."
"Emit's leaving?" Jake asked.
"For 15 years we have been best friends what makes you think that's going to change that?" I walked toward the elevator.
"I leave in 4 days and I want to spend those days with you."
"I have a job."
"I talked to mama."
"I hate you."
"You love me." The doors opened and we went into his apartment.

"Did you know I'm so gay I haven't touch a girls boobs." We were lying on the bed with our backs to the floor. I turned my head and look at him.
"What?"
"It's true." I just busted up laughing.
"Come on you must have accidentally touched mine."
"No." He shook his head. I took his head in my hands and looked up his nose.
"What are you doing?"
"Huh." I started searching his room.
"What are you looking for?"
"Your gay. I can't find it. For the first time you have lost your gay."
"I'm still 100%, B, it's just that I want to experience it."
"Fine." I sat on his bed next to him.
"Is that an invite?" I laughed.
"Yeah it's an invite." His hand hovered.
"Don't be scared."
"Ow! Emit!"
"Sorry. They're delicate."
"Ya think?" I pulled my shirt up.
"And there it is, the gay is back." He moved his hand away. I laughed.
"That's what I thought."
"B I really love you, I do, but those are just disgusting."
"I agree." I got up right in his face.
"Meea more."
"Meea more." He said back. There was a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" Emit yelled.
"Is Brin in there?"
"No!" He yelled.
"Brin, dads here." I jumped out of bed. Emit held my wait.
"Come on." I pulled him into the hallway.
"Dad!" I hugged him.
"Hey B."
"Hey Mr. G." Emit and him does their fancy handshake.
"Good seeing you Emit."
"You too."
"How is the bakery?" He asked.
"It's really good." I nodded.
"I'm glad to hear that." We walked into our apartment.
"Still living together?" He asked.
"Yeah but Brin mostly crashes at Emit's."
"You don't want to move out?" He asks.
"We like it together, like our own security In a way, we have each others back." Kendall says.
"I'm glad to hear it."
"Dad what's wrong?" Fin asks.
"You're kind of on edge." Jake adds.
"I want your approval on something."
"What?" I ask.
"I met a women and we fell in love."
"Dad that's awesome." We say.
"The thing is I met her in Vegas."
"Yeah..."
"Went to bed a single guy woke up a married man." He laughed.
"What?"
"Yeah." He had a huge smile.
"I thought you wanted our approval." Fin says.
"I do and if it doesn't go well we will get an annulment. Until then this is Ari, my wife." A very beautiful women walked through the apartment door.
"Hi." She said as she held out her hand.
"I'm Ari."
"I'm Brinlynn. Brin or B." I said.
"Jake."
"Finnegan. Or Fin."
"And Kendall."
"My names Jeff." Emit says. I hit his arm and we laughed.
"Emit."
"Nice to meet you all." She was perfect from my point of view. I saw a girl at the end of the hallway.
"Dad it's late why don't you go home?" Fin suggested.
"Your right. I'll see you later." I kissed his cheek.
"Bye dad."
"Bye Ari." They walked together to the elevator. Fin waved his hand to the girl but she didn't move.
"I'm his sister!" I yelled. Then she started walking.
"Everytime." Jake said.
"She just too beautiful." Emit smiled.
