We all have that ONE pokemon team that we have in every game.... Well, usually. I, personally, prefer dragon and electric types. The key to winning is having a well-rounded team with many different types. And no, I'm not talking about an Eevee army.It also helps (a lot) to know all the strengths and weaknesses of all pokemon. This is NOT easy to remember. Is poison weak against ice? Is psychic strong against water?
In the heat of the moment, you send out your strongest pokemon. Little did you know, fighting is weak against flying. Sending out your Feraligatr wasnt a very smart move, was it? The best thing you can do is get pokemon with secondary types.
Secondary types... how do I describe it? It's basically a pokemon with two types rather than just one. For example, Lugia is a flying AND psychic type.
What I don't understand is how an electric type like Pikachu, can learn psychic moves. This particular pokemon's strength is also its weakness.
It's an electric type. It is capable of learning psychic moves. If you send out pikachu, who's strong against water, then you could also use psychic moves?
Nevermind. Forget I said that.
Anyway, we all have those pokemon that we're just DYING to get our hands on. I wanted a Shinx for SO FRIGGIN LONG. When I finally got it, I was so happy...
The problem is, the coolest/cutest/shiniest pokemon may not be the best. My Shinx sucks. I'm still grinding for a Luxray for a little improvement.
But what are good Pokemon to have?
That really depends on which game you're using, and which ones you want.
That being said, try to get as many types on your team as possible.
