GABBY’s POV
She’s really adorable, a no ordinary girl. The first time I saw her was on her freshman year and she was wearing a blue dress and a pink wig, how cute! By the way, she’s one year ahead of me. That day, she’s performing with her teammates and nililibot namin ni Thomas ang La Salle. Speaking of Thomas, right, he’s the guy she was looking at. Come on, na-love at first sight agad siya kay Thomas? Oh well, that’s what I felt when I looked at her. :P Okay, alam kong gets niyo na kung sino. Yes, she’s Ara Galang.
Nung rookie year ko, napatunayan ko ngang si Thomas ang “apple of the eye” niya. I’m not that interested with her, I mean I don’t stalk her or something but I followed her and other Lady Spikers on twitter. Nadaanan ko lang yung tweets nila ni Mika, ang cute at ang galing galing daw ni Thomas! And then their fate of idolizing each other brought their love team. Diba sinabi ni Thomas na idol niya si Ara, ano kayang naramdaman niya nun? I think I know. :-/
A year has passed and I never tried to be friends with her. But then the day came, (thanks to Jeron!) it is the lunch break on the first day of class. Natutuwa ako sa kanya, ang cute niya pa rin kahit parang bad mood siya dahil kay Thomas at Mika. Nginitian ko siya nung napatingin siya sakin pero dinedma lang ako eh. :(
After we left the girls, I asked Thomas if he’s just playing with Mika.
“Of course not, I’m happy I had this chance to be friends with them. I’m not there to flirt with her.” sagot ni Thomas.
“Pero nakalimutan mo na ba talaga si…” hindi niya ko pinatapos.
“Shhh, I’ve forgotten her already when she left me a long time ago.” sabi niya. Pero halata naman na hindi pa.
I know Thomas, he’s very honest but for the past few months, he’s been flirting with different girls and drinking. Eto namang si Jeron ngiti-ngiti lang. Nagtataka din ako sa kanya kasi dati he’s so vocal about Mika, tapos ngayon, oh well, I don’t know what’s happening with these guys.
After few days, I asked Thomas for Ara’s number but I don’t have the guts to text her. Haha! Malay niyo pag may emergency! It is just enough for me to see her face, her smile, her awkwardness, her everything. :P We hangout more often with other Lady Spikers pero ganun parin siya, poker face sa akin. :( Sige, ok lang, I still feel happy just looking at you. :)
Right now, it is Saturday, I received a text from Jeron.
Text message: Practice 2pm @ LS gym. Don’t be late! Tell Thomas.
Tsss, don’t be late, teka bakit kaya sa LS gym? I hope I will see Ara, may practice din sila for sure! ;)
I came at the gym around 2:30pm. Okay I’m a late comer but it’s not my fault, it is because of my classes. :P When i entered the gym, I saw someone on the floor, nakayakap siya sa volleyball at hindi umiimik. Lumapit ako sa kanya and to my surprise, it’s Ara! Wow, my prayer is anwered!
Nakakunot ang noo niya at dumilat, halatang nagulat siya. Pero di pa kami masyadong nakakapag-usap, bigla namang dumating si Thomas at sumingit sa usapan. Panira talaga. :P We played for a while, and then I heard Ara is asking Thomas about Mika. Tsk, wag ka masyadong pahalata Ara. Inagaw ko yung bolang hawak niya para magpapansin tapos nginitian ko siya. Ayun dedma na naman, cute naman ako pagnakangiti diba? :(
After a few minutes, dumating na ang Archers tapos si Coach pinagtripan si Ara. Siya yung pinag-team sa amin at syempre si Thomas na naman ang unang pinili. :-/
While we are playing, biglang tumayo si Ara paalis pero pinigilan siya ni Jeron kaya nagsimula ang asaran. Nakatingin lang ako kay Ara habang naglalakad palabas ng gym at nung si Thomas ang nagsalita, lumingon siya. Natatawa ako sa kanya pero naaawa din kasi parang ang lungkot niya.
“Eh ikaw Gab, sino naman sayo?” tanong ni kuya LA. Nakatingin pa rin ako kay Ara, at nung nakalabas na siya saka ako sumagot.
“Si Ara Galang.”
“As in? Hindi ba tibo yun?” tanong ni Kib. Nagtawanan ang mga loko.
“Even we’re close to them, hindi ko pa rin sure.” nakangising sagot ni Thomas. Seriously, ganun ka kamanhid?
“Well, it is just a crush.” sabi ko.
“Crush-crush ka dyan.” at lalo pa nila akong inasar.
“I asked Mika to have dinner with us. Invite Ara na.” pabulong ni Thomas.
“I don’t want to, kung gusto mo ikaw nalang mag-invite.” sabi ko.
“Anong pinagbubulungan niyo?” kantyaw ng iba habang nagtatawanan.
“Tsk, torpe!” yun lang ang nasabi ni Thomas at umalis na siya papunta sa bench.
“I’m just a fan, I don’t want to be her boyfriend.” Well, half of my mind says I want to.
“Ang lakas umamin sa atin about kay Ara, tapos biglang defensive.” sabi ni Jeron. Sige Jeron may araw ka rin sakin.
“Oy, tigil na yan! Practice na!” pagalit na sabi ni Coach. Nakakatawa din tong si Coach eh, nakikisali sa asaran namin tapos maggagalit-galitan. XD
Hay Ara, I wish iinvite ka talaga ni Thomas because I want to see you again. What should I do about you?
