Chapter Five

The Bubbler flew around town, producing bubbles as he went. These were not ordinary bubbles as they were human-sized and strong, with only one task in mind. To capture all the adults.

The townspeople were shocked and tried to run when one came up to them. But their tries were futile, they were immediately caught by the bubbles which then floated up towards the sky. Some screamed for help.

Their children were left on the ground, crying for their parents. The Bubbler's face appeared on the bubbles like a live Tv screen.

"Hello, my friends! How are you all feeling today?! I'm sure that you're all happy from the absence of adults. Now we can have fun all day!"

He ended that with and evil laugh, the kids were looking around for help in despair.

Marinette was at home when all of these incidents happened. Her lunch was already cold because of her constant day-dreaming of Adrien. She wondered if he had opened her present yet. It wasn't signed but that didn't matter because as long as he is satisfied with it.

Her mother caught her wishful thinking and asked,"What are you thinking about?"

Marinette was caught off guard and beamed,"Jut thinking of someone."

A teasing smile tugged the ends of her mouth,"Does little Marinette have a crush on someone?"

Sputtering, Marinette joked nervously"Mama, I think you heard my words wrong. I said that I left something at school and I have to go get it later. Silly me, right?"

The mother had a knowing smile which made Marinette uneasy. Marinette's eyes went wide open when a mysterious bubble floated near her mother.

It instantly caught her mother in it, successfully capturing her. Marinette ran towards it until it flew out of the balcony.

She screamed for her parents. Tikki flew to her aid when she yelled,"Spots on!"

Transforming into her superhero persona, Marinette emerged wearing a red suit with black spots on it. She had a black-spotted red mask, hiding her identity and her special yo-yo around her hips. Her normal silver earrings turned red with spots.

She looked true to her name, Ladybug. (Unfortunately, she couldn't fly.) The heroine burst out of the bakery. She heard everything from the Bubbler's oh so emotional speech.

She comforted the children crying, promising to get their parents back safe and sound.

With that promise, she swung her yo-yo towards Adrien's house which for some reason has fireworks that were made of bubbles exploding.

It's time to gatecrash a party.

Adrien was eating all by himself in the huge dining room. He was still upset with his father for being extremely harsh to Nino. Grabbing his bag, he decided to look for his depressed friend.

He sprinted to the front doors, to see his whole class cheering when he made his presence known.

His green eyes widened in surprise, the courtyard was decorated with party decorations. There was a food court and a DJ.

Everyone was clapping for him nervously but intensified when the Bubbler came in the view, standing on a bubble, acting like a platform.

Adrien choked out,"Nino?" It was soft , almost a silent whisper.

He didn't catch that as he hollered, "HELLO, ADRIEN! I have personally gathered all your friends here today. We are here to celebrate your birthday!"

With that said, bubble fireworks exploded dramatically in the air. The Bubbler jumped off the bubble and into the DJ set. Loud music blared from the speakers that were placed around them. Adrien's friends began to dance energetically to the song, however their eyes were piled with fear.

Shocked, Adrien backed away into his house.

Plagg flew out of his jacket when Adrien summoned him and got ready for his transformation. His Kwami said,"Why won't you have fun for once? Besides everything is just what you exactly wanted for years. Your wish to have a birthday party? Check. No adults on sight? Check. No stopping until forever? Check!"

His master hesitated, torn between saving his friend and following his wishes. In his mind, this was a very rare occasion. He had never tried breaking the rules before. Adrien exhaled heavily, weighing out his decisions.

With a heavy heart, he joined the party but made an oath to change instantly the Bubbler tries to harm someone.

Let's just say that everyone was dancing on the dance floor. But don't think for a second, that they were enjoying it.

Kim (an athletic star) was dancing with a girl with purple highlights in her hair.

His friend, Max (a small-sized nerd with big black framed glasses) was dancing all on his own. With renewed energy, Adrien finally let himself go enjoying the party until it ends. Little did he know, it will never stop until someone ends it.

The beats were very catchy but no one seemed to be enjoying it. That was what Adrien took note of when he got around socialising, asking whether if his friends were entertained. They each gave him half-hearted smiles, even Rose who is usually excited about things like this.

Before he could ask further, Sabrina was approaching the Bubbler cautiously. The diva queen was waiting impatiently behind her as she asked him a question.

"Excuse me, Bubbler? Do you have any slower songs?" Her teeth was shivering from fright of the evil-looking person.

The Bubbler gazed with skepticism in his blood red eyes, responded "Isn't it too early for that type of songs?"

Gulping, she dubiously said "But it's okay, right?"

That just made the Bubbler agitated, Chloe who was checking her perfectly manicured nails budged into the conversation, giggling "Adrien does like slow songs, he says it's romantic."

She was fluttering her eyes like an idiot, that's for sure. The Bubbler nodded, obeying her request and everyone immediately started to dance with people near them like couples.

By this time, the birthday boy was definitely sure something was up. Deep down, he knew the answer but he didn't want to accept it.

Chloe strutted to him in her high heels, her smug grin visible on her face. She grabbed Adrien's hand, pulling him to the direction of the dance floor causing him to lose concentration.

From the start of time, he was now once again engulfed in her dance-like choke hold. He treated Chloe like a sister, had known her since they were kids. But she keeps on crossing the line. She would never take the hint, would she?

Ladybug made her entrance silently, landing gracefully on the balls of her feet. She crept on the roof swiftly, spying on the party.

The heroine looked up to see Chloe trying to kiss Adrien who was shying away from her.
