Jealousy flared inside Ladybug, momentarily forgetting her objective, she gathered her power to unleash Lucky Charm.
Sparks ignited from the air where she threw her specialised yo-yo. Her lucky item this time was a record disc.
Her blue eyes narrowed in confusion, wondering how on earth she was to stop Chloe from getting what she wanted.
Looking around quickly, she had analysed all the possibilities until she found an answer. Her brain began to construct a new game plan with all the components she had seen.
A railing of the roof, the DJ sound adjusters and the empty record disc holder. Seeing that, the Bubbler was preoccupied with something. With all her might, she threw it at the railing (surprisingly it did not break) which change its direction towards the DJ set.
Its impact altered the sound volume then fell onto the holder perfectly. Breakdancing music instantaneously blasted through the speakers.
The guests had confusion but relief as they danced to a very different kind of song played. Chloe the little minx was about to kiss Adrien who tried many futile attempts to get away from her but he resigned to restrain her instead.
He sighed in relief when the music changed, pushing Chloe away and looking at her in apology.
In the mean time, energy was running out for Ladybug. The five black spots on her earrings reduced to one, signalling that she had to find a place to turn back into her normal self. Acting swiftly, she jumped off the building and landed on the ground gracefully without any sound.
At the exact moment, her suit changed, gathering itself and levitated to mid-air. It transformed back to Tikki who fell limply onto Marinette's stretched out hands.
The sprite-like guardian was drained of energy, her droopy eyes glanced at Marinette, making her feel guilty a lot.
"Marinette, you know what happens....."
"Yes, I know. I'll change back in just minutes.I'm sorry, Tikki."
"You should control yourself sometimes, Marinette. Especially when it comes to seeing 'things' you never liked."
"Understood, Tikki. But every time I see her, anger immediately emerges inside of me."
"It's okay, Marinette. At least you saved your beloved Adrien. However I am curious to know what we do next."
"You see, the Bubbler isn't going anywhere. So we'll take our time, replenishing your energy."
Tikki protested about 'the part where they take their time.' Marinette was quick on her feet, replying an explanation.
"I have yet to recognise the location of the akuma. It'll be easier to see where it spreaded the dark energy from. And besides if we hurriedly approach the Bubbler without realising it, we'll be fighting a losing battle."
Nodding, Tikki was still concerned but she let it pass. Ladybug had never failed her yet.
Marinette hid her little friend in her pink purse which was usually strapped over her shoulder and hip.
The party was still on with Adrien forgetting his worries when he saw how 'fun' his friends were having. The truth was merely because of the Bubbler.
His fierce personality and threats were buried deep in their mind, reminding them that their fate could end up the same way with the ones above.
Fear will always be the evil's best friend.
Back to the heroine,
Marinette walked naturally into the party. She looked normal as possible, however inside she was a bundle of nerves.
Luckily, no one noticed her absence except for her probably-worried-out-of-her-mind best friend.
At the dinner table, there were lots of mouth-watering food. Marinette needs only one type of food that will surely energise Tikki. Cookies. Plates of them were served on the end of the table. Speed-walking, Marinette grabbed a few and stuffed it into her purse.
Alya saw her and hurried over, worry in her eyes. She gave Marinette a tight hug before gushing,"Are you okay?! Where were you?! I thought you got sent off by the Bubbler!"
She replied,"I'm fine, Alya. See?" gesturing to her perfectly fine self.
"I hope that Ladybug and Cat Noir comes soon, so they can save us and the adults. Just like they always do." Acknowledging the fact that Paris has its own superheroes to protect it.
Alya had always believed in them, especially Ladybug. She even had a blog about her. That made Marinette determined to save the adults because without them the world will change.
The good friend sighed in relief, before her eyes sparkled. Smirking, a finger motioned for Marinette to follow her.
Refusing at first because she has to transform as soon as possible and fearing that Alya may notice.
"It's something to do with Adrien." That caught her attention like a child with its favourite toy.
Her feet went on their own without any commands from her brain. Sneakily, they entered Adrien's house and ended up in Natalie's office where the precious gift was.
Jumping for joy, Marinette used a sticky note to paste on the gift and gave it a loving kiss. Written on it, was 'From, Marinette."
Alya was guarding the front, in case the Bubbler passed by or worse yet Adrien. Inside, Tikki popped her head out of the purse, informing the girl that she was ready to go.
Meanwhile a classmate was not having fun at all, his bulky body was leaning against the wall and his eyes looked bored.
The Bubbler found him and walked over, requesting him to join the party.
The boy made a bad mistake when he said that it was boring and he didn't want to dance. Angered by the reply, the Bubbler used his bubble maker and sent him to the stars.
The movement went unnoticed by the party guests but not Marinette. She gasped in despair, knowing that she had stalled too long in fighting the Bubbler.
Outside, Adrien was having the time of his life. He stood on the stage with the Bubbler who handed him a microphone. He said,"Hey everyone! Are you having fun?!" His voice was resonated clearly from the speakers.
His friends were not looking at him but the person behind. None answered as fear took over their minds. Eyes narrowing, nose flaring, teeth gritting, the Bubbler reached for his bubble maker strapped onto his back.
That made them flinch before whooping in laughter for Adrien.
In spite of all, the party was just about to end. A lady was standing on a roof in the clear view of the party.
Ladybug was making her presence known to the Bubbler. Everyone cheered for her as she swung her yo-yo, breaking the DJ set and sockets. Adrien was dumbstrucked from her presence, whispering "Ladybug?"
"The party is over, Bubbler!" Ladybug commanded, confidence in her strong voice.
His nasally voice shot back,"Everyone was enjoying themselves, why must you ruin everything?!"
"Why?! You ask? You made the adults disappear! There are kids out there wanting their parents. Their love and comfort are what children need most! And the worse of all, you forced these unwilling people to attend your party!!"
Cheerings sounded again, supporting the superhero's speech. Growling, the Bubbler engaged in a fit with Ladybug who jumped down to meet him.
Bubble attacked her with bubbles in order to imprison her, Ladybug dodged every attack, cutting them down with her swinging yo-yo.
He made a ginormous one and flunged it at Ladybug. She threw her yo-yo as well. The two attacks meet, however this time the bubble withstanded the pressure of the yo-yo.
Ladybug was frozen in shock as both her weapon and bubble were heading towards her at impeccable speed.
