My eyes scanned the desert plain. The barren land had little vegetation and even less water. The sun's rays cast down and heated the sand below me, Occasionally wind blew through, the sand allowing you to see its trail. The large mounds and dunes where scattered about, my eyes carefully scanned them in search of my nasty wolf.
I began moving forward, 'Your not gonna win this time!' I yelled.
I heard a soft chuckle coming from behind me, I spun around and glared at the empty space before me. A growl formed in my throat as I carefully searched the sand. The fur of my wolf gave us perfect camouflage when against the sand, but right now its not very helpful for me during this game of hide and seek.
'Can't you ever go easy on me!?' I whimpered.
Being so alone sometimes can really get to you.
'Okay.. okay next time I'll go easy on you.' My wolf spoke, He slowly rose from the sand before me. He shook his coat and a cloud formed around him before slowly vanishing.
'Gosh your so good at this..' I mumbled. I always sucked at hide and seek but my wolf was amazing!
'Sorry.. we should be getting up soon its almost night. Then we can actually go out and play in the sand!' My wolf jumped around at that. Small puffs of sand floated around his paws.
Me and my wolf both love the sand. Its so much fun to roll around in and run through.. and the feeling of it beneath our paws was always welcomed.
I plopped down on the ground and my wolf did too. Actually I think that they actually are Jackals but we thought it would be weird calling ourselves were-jackals.. It just doesn't fit right. So we just accepted the name werewolf, even though our wolves are much different than the packs you find in North America. I would love to meet a wolf from there.. Maybe one day I can go to America too! Well.. first I would want to go to Ireland and China, oh and maybe Australia too! I love learning about the wo-' Heru..' My wolf groaned.
I looked over at him, his face wore an annoyed expression. 'What?'
'Talk out loud! I wanna know what's going through that head of yours.' My wolf complained.
'Fine fine.. I was just thinking about how I want to travel the world. I also really wanna meet the different breed's of wolves too. Especially the wolves in America.' I said happily.
'That would be very nice indeed. I wonder if they would look down upon us since we look so different. I know that there are other different wolves out there but none look similar to us. Maybe we should have just dealt with the name Were-jackal...' My wolfs voice trailed off.
'Oh god no! I hate the name were-jackal! I like werewolf much much better.' I said firmly.
My wolf chuckled and shook his head. ' Okay okay.. well It's time to wake up.'
I nodded and quickly shut my eyes, allowing my body to wake up.
I slowly opened my eyes and glanced around the room. The white walls where now a dull grey color in the dark of night. I crawled out of bed and ran to the window. A silver moon sat high in the sky. I bounced happily and ran out of my room. The house we lived in was fairly large. The current group of people we were protecting were from the upper class, they gave our pack different homes in thanks for the protection we are giving them.
'Mom!" I yelled as I ran down the stairs. She better have food ready.. I am starving!
'Yes Heru?' My mother asked as she walked down the hall. We met in the middle and I stared up at her with puppy dog eyes.
